NIGHT OF DISCOVERY

Every night I poke my head out the back door....looking for a hint of white on my Moon Flower vine.

Tonight I was rewarded with a lovely white blossom.

Stepping closer I see the bloom is not pure white.

Veins of yellow highlight the inner light of this beautiful bloom.

Finished with the Moon Flower bloom, I turn to leave.

Tree frog!  Delighted...I had to snap some pictures hoping they would come out...
I'm very pleased with the outcome.  I wonder if this is the same one I saw earlier this summer.

Oh the flower is so lovely. I am going to put in at least moon flowering plant somewhere. And the frog, he is delightful. I wonder what it is that makes us all love frogs so much?

Fine pictures, I especially like the middle one.
The bloom looks as if it's made of silk in that close up...doesn't it?
I was surprised and delighted to see the frog, he was being very still, and I think I probably blinded him with the flash, I went out later to see if I could find him again, but he was hiding really good and I didn't catch another look at him.

There is a wonderful book called The Moonflower Vine. I read it several times when younger. Its name comes from the family gathering on the front porch at dusk to literally watch the flower pods pop open. What a magical thing!
