My Photoshoot This Week

Rather than innundate you with photos of my daughter, I thought I'd put them into an article so you can view them all quickly and move on. I just had a thought to throw this old chair out in the lawn with the purple throw pillow and scarf and plop miss Lola in it. I yanked off her clothes and asked her to please not pee on my pillow. She did. Oh well. I got to practice and I actually liked a few of the shots. Too many were overexposed, but that's why I'm practicing. Here are my favorites, in no particular order.

Great photos - you're really learning! I also have to go with the crowd here, and vote for the first one as my favorite. Everything's right with this picture, the lighting, the composition, the face...just perfect!

E.M. I actually shot these with a Nikon D40x. lol! I really like it, although I want to move up from there eventually. The only thing to consider with the D40x is that it is only compatible with AF-S lenses and they're a bit more expensive. You can use other auto-focus lenses but you won't be able to use the auto-focus.

You know, I may have read that you used one on another thread, but I keep hearing how good they are. How did you choose that camera? I don't even know where to begin in deciding what I want.

Well, it was in the price range I wanted and I liked it over the Canon Rebel. I just did research on the two and liked the D40x the best. The lens thing isn't too big a deal to me, I don't mind investing more in lenses and I plan to continue purchasing Nikons so I'll be able to use all my lenses with my next camera bodies. I have the kit lens, the 18-55mm and then the 55-200mm which I use for all my portraits. All in all, I really like the camera.
