How do you find articles?

I have been pondering the best way to find article that I can comment on. When I am not searching for something in particular I often used the "recent articles" page but I often find that the posted articles are not something I am interested in or they don't change that frequently. Nobody wants to stare at the same article titles forever so I am trying to explore other ways to find articles I can comment on.

I am wondering what the majority of gather users do to find articles they want to read and comment on, so let me have it! How do you find articles to read?

I start by reciving any article my friends create. I have them sent to my email. I start answering from the last one I recive and work my way down. If I haven't been on for a few days. I do a mass delete. Most times all I have to do is check my gather mailbox to see a link has been sent to me that way amyways. So, I don't miss much.

What Sandy said is a great way to keep in contact with your connections. Of course I wouldn't do that with every connection that you have because you probably wouldn't ever get through your mail.

I used the "articles for me" from my connections or search for something. I don't play games much.

Maybe you could try tags with the gendre you are interested in.

Mostly I comment on my connections, or ones that my connections comment on. :-) I've found there is an art to the hunt. :-)

I mainly comment on articles from people I am connected to. Occaisionally I will find others because my connections have commented on them. Lastly I actually search for them.

My first priority is commenting on the work of those that connect on mine. I also check the highest rated sometimes or follow my connections and see where they go :)

I first check all my connections articles/images, then go to my groups and check articles/images there, then if I have time I check the most recent articles and also any mass emails.

I read what my connections have written first, whether or not they necessarily interest me. No matter what - you can find some sort of a comment to offer. Then I move on to my groups and see what has been posted there, payingparticular attention to the featured articles. Then I move on to images ... I'm a little more picky there. I only open the ones that seem interesting or catch my eye for some reason.

I just poke around. Sometimes I check out the recent articles, sometimes I'll go through my connections and groups, and sometimes I just use the search and/or tags and see what I get!

I try to get all my connections articles read first, then I skip around and look at others :)

I try to read articles by those who have commented on my work first, then I go to "Articles for Me" for things by my other connections. Sometimes I'll check my groups for a particular thing, and every once in a while I'll search tags for a subject.

I comment back to the ones that comment to me. Even though I basically put up the same thing. I have connections that write great articles and poetry. If I see a person on their page that sounds interesting. I click on their icon read their articles, usually ask them for a connectiion if they appeal to me at all.

You can also look at the groups your connections have joined. Click on their link, usually find articles you would ordinarily miss. You may want to join that group.

I tend to comment most often on articles in the groups I run -- particularly Comment Speedway. ::grin:: If you're looking for articles that could use some comments, we've got plenty!

First I usually go through the articles that have been sent to my Gather inbox. Then I go to the articles page that are from my connections.

I try to keep up with my email here on gather, unsuccessfully. I also try to click on articles from groups I'm in, that keeps my server mailbox full. I never get caught up, I just keep trying.

There are a handful of people whom I visit regularly because I always appreciate their writes. Then I peruse my connections and afterwards I browse the recent articles list.

I review connection friend's articles first, then jump to groups I am a member of. Only occassionally do I go to the "all articles" area.

Actually what I do is have Gather send me emails when articles are posted in the groups I belong to and also when articles are posted from my connections.

Also, I return a comment for each comment given to me so if you like, please feel free to look at and comment on any of my images and articles, thanks!

If you really like someone's style, you can subscribe to their articles, and get notified to your email if one of your connections publish something. If you're interested in certain subjects, you can browse groups until you find one with articles you like.

Lina - the explore button has been removed in the new Gather set up. In its place, you can put "All Gather Feeds" in the search link and you get the posts.
