My boys and I went for a walk this afternoon. We wanted to share it with you :)
Leaving my driveway - my two favorites in my yard - Japanese maple and dogwood.

We headed for a park that we are fond of. We made our way down our street to the shortcut.
A shortcut (for those that don't have them) is a sidewalk that is between houses. It cuts a block in half so kids can get to school faster.
Going in..

Out on the other side.

We get close to our park that my oldest has dubbed it the "park with no toys". Back in the early 80's they built this park and promised toys, just now we are finally seeing some movement towards that goal. After much neighborhood rallying against the city council (so much fun) they decided that they would put in the toys this fall! Yay! My guys are so excited about the addition of the toys but still want to keep the park named the same :)

We leave our park and head to the "forest" that is really a foot path along the highway at the edge of our city. The city put up a wall along what we call the "shelter belt" that the city established back in the 70's I believe so that the homes that were built there could have some protection from the wind that will tears through all the time.

On the way back home now we see these at the end of the shortcut...

Aren't they so pretty??
Thanks for the walk!!

nicely taken photos
let's break out those peach fuzzy navels!
It's pretty cold here now so walks have changed a bit. When I get home from work it's already dark so I have to reserve my walking with my boys for the weekends.
