I Think My Neighbors Like Me - A Poem

When I have left this earth

I think my neighbors might say 

Sure she was a democrat 

But we liked her anyway

 

Despite that time she put

Kerry/Edwards signs all over her lawn

If you needed a favor at midnight

It was Kay you would call upon 

 

She'd water your plants when you were gone

And remember to take in your mail

And when she went to the outlet stores

She'd pick you up something on sale 

 

If you were feeling under the weather

She'd bring you soup or a casserole

And she never ever complained

If you didn't return the bowl.

 

We laughed at her funny stories

And the corny jokes she'd tell

So even though she was a democrat

We don't think she went to hell.
