...from TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8." This morning TLC announced that as of November 2nd Jon will not appear on "Jon & Kate Plus 8" and the title of the show will be changed to "Kate Plus 8."
Ratings have greatly decreased since the couple announced their divorce. The season premiere of the fifth season attracted a record number of viewers 9.8 million. On that premire the couple announced their separation. After the announcement the ratings have drastically gone down.
Kate has played guest host on "The View" in order to get her TLC's shows ratings up. She is also in the talks of becoming a co-host with The Food Networks Paula Deen, on a new day-time talk show. I think she's trying to put herself in a position to still be able to provide for her family if the show gets canceled. I also think that her "celebrity status" will keep her in the public eye for a while. For some reason people like watching her, despite their feelings about her.
For the sake of her children I hope Jon gets his act together and stops galivanting around with different women, and spending money; Kate gets a job that can provide for her family, that keeps the family off of television. She can be on television, but enough with the show. I think the ratings suggest that people are no longer interested. It is time to move on.
