I have been reflecting on my life recently and I started to ask myself who has had the greatest impact on my life thus far. I believe the answer to be my husband. From the day we first met, he has supported my every dream and my every whim. I must say this has been a difficult job, because I tend to have a lot of whims :-)
For a while, I decided I wanted to be a massage therapist. He went out and surprised me with a massage table before I started school so I would be prepared. This was a great gesture because it showed he believed in me unconditionally.
We are now struggling with infertility. He has been wonderful doing anything I have asked of him to get pregnant. He's taken a million vitamins, undergone surgery, and had a ton of doctor appointments, all in the hopes of being able to have a child together. He's never complained and always states he just wants me to be happy.
I have never really experienced unconditional support and love. My life before my husband was filled with pain and sadness. He has taken a beaten down woman and made her feel amazing inside. He has helped me see that I am worthwhile and that I deserve to be happy. I still struggle with low self-esteem, but with his love and support, I feel better every single day. I am truly blessed to be married to such an amazing man!
Your turn.... who has had the most impact on your life and why?
Thanks!
Holly K.

We are two VERY LUCKY WOMAN!
For me, I grew up alone quite a lot. Both my parents worked and I was a latch-key kid. My family also moved quite a lot so there was no particular neighbor or whatever. But one key person was my 8th grade science teacher who gave me the idea that I could solve some of the problems that mankind faces. She didn't single me out but for some reason I thought "why not?" and took that surge of confidence with me for the rest of my life. I am still trying and its over 50 years later.
Widowed at 40 ... carried on strongly until 92!
No complaints.
He has support me from the beginning and give me wins when I want to fly. He encourage me to become a writer and edits everything I write. It makes for a very long day in front of the computer but ,he does it for me. He even let me put long hair and pointed ears on him as I dress him as an Elf to support me in a fantasy fair we sold my (our) book in. He was great and all the young men wanted to talk with him. Now... we are talking about my cowboy husband.

My biggest influence is my sister. She got pregnant at a young age, and basically raised her twin girls on her own. The girls' father wen to jail when they were 4 months old and didn't get out til they were over a year. She got married and tried to make it work, but he couldn't grow up and landed in prison, she has raised her girls wonderfully, and she is a strong, beautiful person.
