My old guy, the brown stripedy one with lots of white too, was having some health issues the past few days. He was not using the litter pan to urinate and I could actually see blood in his urine wherever he did decide to go potty. I called yesterday and was able to get him in for a visit this morning.
The vet said he was heavy. Duh! 6.5 kg or 14.3 pounds. He also said that he did not have a blockage. no stones. So it must be "just a urninary tract infection." He listened to his heart. Everything is fine there too. Then he noticed what he thought could be earmites. A cotton swab and a look under the microscope told them it was not ear mites.
I asked about the tattoing in his ear. They do not keep a country wide register here. So they put his numbers into his file, for "Just in case!"
Upon entering the exam room, I had told the vet that Finders (pronounced Finduss) was skittish and a scaredy cat. It was mentioned about how the older black cat escapes and then terrorizes the others, once he is brought back. The vets solution was this: aromatherapy.
I now have a small liquid dispenser that plugs into the wall, and will help to calm Finders. It is only meant for Cats. I'm hoping that it is not a strong lavender scent. That crap knocks me out as well. I'm no cat, but Lavender has that affect on me.
Great! Aromatherapy for cats! What's next????
