Hello, I got an update on Missy last night, from the source of course, and I thought I would pass it along to all of you! Missy is going to be kept another week for sure. They have decided to send her for a home visit on Sunday to see how she does. They decided that she shouldn't get an electric wheelchair at this time, since that riding instead of working on walking is what got her into this mess. She is to start the process for the surgery on her knee as soon as she is out of the hospital, so it will be a few weeks before she will be able to have the surgery. She is feeling pretty good, and is able to do without the pain relief patch now. She is still taking some pain medication, but it doesn't have to be constant. They have her up and walking in both of her Physical Therapy sessions every day, so that is a major mobility improvement for her. Aside from going a little stir crazy, and running out of things to read, she is in good spirits and looking forward to getting home and smothering Loki in hugs and kisses. (In all fairness, David can visit her in the hospital, they won't let her cat in for some reason?) She is complete computer and Gather withdrawl, and plans on getting on the computer as soon as she is able to do so! Her fingers are "itching for the keyboard". She also wants to thank everybody for their well wishes and prayers, and plans on doing so herself when she gets back!
On another note, my kids Grandmother, Deannia, is having her surgery on the cancer they found today. Please keep her in your prayers. She may have to stay overnight, depending on what they find when they go in, but she could be in her own bed this evening too. Either way, we should know more in a few days. Please keep her in your prayers too!
Many of you have asked me how my disability was going. I am still waiting to hear. I had a physical exam on Jan 4th (which I collapsed right after) and my psych exam on December 26th, I should here something by the first of February according to the doctors that did the exams. As far as my retirement disability application from work, they apparently just got all of the information and sent it off at the end of the year, and so it will be March or April before I here if I am going to be allowed to go out on retirement. In other words, hurry up and wait, which is typical of any government paperwork, and something those of us that have worked there have, unfortunately, gotten very used to having to accept. (When I got hired, it took them 3 years to finally fingerprint me and run a background check! Doesn't that make you feel more secure now?) I found out they didn't have a sense of humor either, since I told them if I was going to try to blow the place up, I certainly wouldn't have waited until they fingerprinted me to do it!
We have gotten a home for our kitten Precious, which makes me happy and sad all at once. I am glad that a dear friend of mine has taken her home, and so I know she is good hands, and will get the shots and care she needs that I could not afford due to government red tape on getting any income again. We still have not been able to find anyplace for Rosie, our lab/rottweiler mix. Ironically, it is her food that is putting the biggest dent in our expenses, but we are going to keep doing what we can until we are sure she has a good home, or finances pull through. My daughter
has started a new job this week. She has found a daycare in Louisville to work that pays well, and adjusts for her experience as a lead teacher. She will get a raise after 30 days, and could be a lead teacher again within 3 months. For now she is working in the infant room. We did have to get her some new scrubs for the job, since she hasn't been in childcare for a little while, and she needed them. (that is their uniform. More daycares are going to them)
My son has put in an application for a body tech job, and is really nervous and hopeful this will be the one he gets. Meijer has told him that to be considered full time, he has to be able to work 3rd shift now. He doesn't sleep at all when he tries to work third shift because we are home all the time, and it makes it hard to sleep. They didn't say they wouldn't give him full time when they hired him and he said 1st or 2nd only. They only thought of this dilemma when he had done 39.5 hours a week for over 3 months and he wanted to know why he still couldn't get insurance for his wife. Keep them in your prayers as well. They are going to go to the hospital with their grandmother this afternoon.
Well, I think that updates everything on my end for now! If I missed anything or anyone, let me know.

God bless you all!
I would appreciate the comments! All comments welcome. I spend my time awake (day or evening) trying to do what I can on the sites that pay either gift cards or cash to try to help things out right now. I was the primary income since my kids had gone into college, then they are both back home, and taking care of me working the best they can. I DON'T THINK ANYBODY SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE KIND OF RED TAPE THE GOVERNMENT PUTS OUT. Unfortunately, because there are people who abuse the system, they think this keeps them out. Actually, it means they are usually the ones that get through somehow, because they are not honest enough to care about anything.
Having a lot going on at once describes my life since I was 12 and my parents divorced! I have learned to deal with things a day at a time, and God sees us through! Thank you for the good thoughts!
My friend's husband had a really difficult time finally getting disability. He had fallen off the roof of their cabin and broke nearly all the bones on one side of his body. He had to be airlifted over 400 miles to a major hospital and was there a long time. Eventually, he hired an attorney and was able to get disability.
Thank you all, so much for your well wishes and prayers. God has kept us going, and we are constantly amazed at things working out like they do. While there are times I didn't wish God trusted me so much, I know he will never give me more than we can handle. I also thank everybody for the tips and advice on the disability, it is very appreciated.
Be in peace
Call a lawyer now and find out your options - the secretary can tell you some of this stuff. Find out what their win record is and go with the best one.
I hope you have applied for food stamps and your state welfare and Medicaid sounds like you'd qualify.
Good luck to you!
I care for you all and believe that a change is coming Soon. Grace and strength until it does.
My prayers, Lisa.
Thanks for the information. I am taking in anything anyone can tell me on disability. If I get turned down, and I probably will, I will get an attorney. I will gladly pass your message on to missy! I did figure you meant 40, but I am sure the atty would take it all if he could.
Thank you so much for your prayers and comments!
I appreciate your comments on my articles...I was busy with my chirp weekend and it has been a slow time trying to feel better. I had some medical problems afterwards as I am not able to sit up for long periods of time and I pay a price for it.
I hope all is going better for you. I hope you will get a check soon from disability. I am not even going to say if, it's got to be when...
Hugs,
Heather
You are in my prayers my friend. I understand when you can't respond, believe me! You take care of you, and I will be here when you have the time and health! Take Care!
