Please HELP!!! We recently took in a wonderful kitten named Precious. My mother has completely fallen for her and the rest of us love her too. She was orphaned very young and I think that is part of the strong connection between them.
Anyway, I love the fact that my mom has found a new love to keep her company in her time of medical problems that keep her mostly cooped up at home. With this, I am DESPERATE for help so that we can keep the kitty.
Precious has been doing multiple things that are driving me CRAZY and, unfortunately, affecting my health. The worst being that she is peeing on my bed! I don’t have any clue why, but this is happening quite a bit-to the point of that I can’t sleep in my own bed and my sheets and blankets are being washed daily. We have tried a lot of things, and NONE seem to work. We have tried voice commands, spanking, water bottles, locking her in her room when she does it, and keeping her out of my room. the only thing that keeps her out, unfortunately, also keeps my cat out and that is not a good thing. I have to keep my cat’s food in my room, because she has a special prescription cat food. Before we had Precious, this worked well. We have been able to keep our 3rd cat, Grace, out of there as long as we either keep a gate up, so we know when she goes in there (The gate is placed high enough that they usually make noise jumping over it.) or we catch her going in anyway, and call her name firmly and she will stop and go a different direction. None of this works for Precious. She doesn’t respond to ANYTHING we do. She also claws everything, besides peeing on the beds. (she even does it on Mom’s bed occasionally) and she eats cat food that could hurt her or make her ill, especially since she is under a year old still.
We have never had such a problem with training our animals, so I am pulling out my hair. If you have any ideas, thoughts or suggestions that we haven’t tried, PLEASE let us know so we can keep her. I love her and she does my mom good when she is not causing trouble! Please Help…

Does the cat use the litter box at all?
We had a cat who refused to use the litter. I think it actually hurt his feet to stand in it (goofy cat) so he always used a rug to pee on (for 19.5 years) and we would just wash it every day.
Is there any pattern to the cat not going where she's supposed to?
Secondly if this problem isn't solved with the above recommendations, she may have a bladder or kidney infection and may be experiencing discomfort and has no other way to show you or tell you so I recommend that you have her checked out for this. It really isn't too expensive either.
Since you are a multiple pet family and if your kitten is a feral most cities have a lower pay scale for people based on income and whether your cats are feral or not. You need to inquire as this is a good program and you can get your cats spayed and neutered and shots for very low costs to you.
The other thing as Cori suggested is a product called (heck, I can't find the bottle right now.) They sell it at Petco. It is a 32 oz bottle white with hot pink and turquoise cats on the label and you dilute it and spray it in the areas where your cats have sprayed or peed and they won't go there anymore. Along with taken their desire from going in those places anymore it also takes the horrible smell of cat piss away.
Sure hope these tips help you out. Please let me know ok??

I have another cat who peed in my bed when we were on a trip. I think she was mad at us.
I hope you solve this but it is a difficult thing to live with. You might have to make her an outdoor cat.
I have never been able to solve the scratching of furniture problem. All sorts of things are provided for scratching but they still prefer the furniture. It is discouraging.
It is possible your other cats may be harassing her while she is in the litter box. The rule of thumb is one box for each cat plus one extra.
Precious sounds as if she needs socialization training. Has she been abused?
Also if it continues consult a vet. A urinary track infection will sometimes cause an urge so strong that a close central place..a bed that will attract attention (call for help) may be chosen. Good luck!
