Hubby called me a few days ago asking if we were ready for a new dog yet. I asked why. Apparently a friend at work has too many dogs for the county ord.s' and needed to get rid of one. This didn't sound too great at first as I was wondering why they would get rid of THIS one dog. But it turns out they are going to breed mini dashunds (sp) and need to get rid of their 5 year old Rottie. (YEA!!! I love rotties) They did not want to put him in a pound or give him to just anyone and they are going to GIVE him to us for FREE (love that part too).
I gave hubby the go ahead for a meet and greet and he fell in love. He wanted to bring him home by I asked him to wait till after Halloween as I would be out all day and that wouldn't be the best for the poor dog.
SO we told the kids about him last night and told them the dogs name was Maximillion.
I was just talking to Dante and he asked if daddy was really bring home "Maxahundred" LOL I was laughing so hard the poor kid thought I was nuts. I was very nice and explained I was not laughin AT him but what he said was FUNNY. That the dogs name is MaxaMILLION. He just said OH, and walked away.
I just had to share that with you all. I will let you know tomorrow how Max likes his new home and how Scarlett likes Him.
THANKS EVERYONE!!

I hope that he fits right in, in your family!!
Rottie's are great dogs as long as they are treated right. My grandparents used to raise/breed them when I was a kid.
sounds like you'll have a nice full house... congrats...

Make sure to not overwhelm the dog when you bring him home - if he hasn't eve been around kids - most Rotties are great with kids but they have to get to know you first - then they are so incredibly loyal (I don't have one but have had friends who do and there are TONS of resources on the internet)
Congrats on your one in a MILLION (or hundred) dog!!! (hee-hee)
Sounds like a great match - Rotties need kids and kids need dogs.
Have fun.
Loved the humor.

I love Rottes, but they get pretty big.
We had a border collie years ago named Maxi, my 4 daughters called her "Maxi pad". Isn't that awful?
As a Christmas present to you, I will leave this Christmas greeting on all of your photos and articles. It might take me a while, as you have been pretty active, but I will get through them all, and I hope you will get a little point (or Gather cash) boost in time for Christmas.
I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season with lots of love, joy and family time.
