Ok .. before I tell the story everyone must know I am terrified of little critters and rodents. I mean terrified. Pee your pants, hang from the ceiling terrified.
A few weeks ago a chipmunk got into my office. It was adorable .. but I was scared to death! I tried to drum up some courage to get it out of the office. After chasing it around my office for a good 30 minutes to an hour I finally decided to take a break. I sat down by the computer watching all around me like a paranoid lunatic! Finally about an hour later I get up the guts to try again. I moved some boxes and the chipmunk ran across my shoes and up part of my pant leg. I jumped and screamed and shook my leg without a second thought. The little chipmunk went flying and ran out the door. So once it was out of my office I shut the sliding glass door. A little while later I am sitting on one side of the desk and a friends of mine on the other and low and behold who is sitting on the other side of the sliding glass door staring at me? The little chipmunk. It was wiping its head and staring right at me! When I went to get its picture thru the glass with my phone it ran off on me. I still see the chipmunk from time to time. It hangs outside in the eaves troughs and the tree's right outside my office.
So today it was getting stuffy in my office so I decided to open the sliding glass door to get some fresh air in the place. I had totally forgotten about the chipmunk. The door had been open for a few hours with no problems. Then all the sudden I see this big fat squirrell is running at my office with a big nut hanging out of its mouth. I see it heading at the door but I am frozen in fear! The squirell ran in the sliding glass door and out the front door ... like he was taking a short cut! LOL .. Meanwhile I am sitting at my desk with my heart racing. I don't know what I would have done if the little bugger didn't leave on his own. Honestly I think I would have abandoned the office to the squirell!
This is honestly the most exciting thing to happen here all day! :) I do like watching the squirells and the chipmunks. They like to sit in the pear tree's next to my office. They will also run next door and collect walnuts. Its just way to cute. How ironic is it that I am fine with them running around outside but once they come in I freak out?
Just thought I would share my adventure.

Umm .. dad I will never touch any of moms rats! Didn't she tell you about the time she was talking about one getting loose and I jumped on the bed not knowing if it was still out? Yuck! I do not like rats!!!!
Dan .. I do like those commercials too! :) I swear the squirells do that stuff intentionally! On my street they run out in front of me all the time.
You definitely do not want to come visit my family here in South Florida that's for sure. We've got lizzards outside, sometimes inside, lots of aunts, frogs, spiders mosquitoes, stray cats, a once in a while snake, sometimes a huge iguana or two, and of course we've got a roach once in a while as well. Fortunately, the roaches are rare in comparison to my previous Florida experiences. We definitely do not need any pets. We've even had a kind parrot come visit us ones in a while.
The squirell is still stalking me .. it seems to be collecting nuts and taking them back to wherever he is coming from.
I know you are afraid of them. I'm not making fun. Honest!
