It has been awhile since I entered a piece to the group, and even now it is actually a repost!
Golden Autumn
Russet and bronze leaves falling from on high
Framed by a perfect, cloudless blue sky
Upon the ground, an auburn mosaic is made
Summer has passed; a new foundation has been laid
Gentle breezes rustle through the intricate picture
Autumn can't be tied down; it's not a permanent fixture
A time of glorious beauty and wondrous changes
As it moves through its graceful, subtle stages
Golden sunsets and slow golden dawns
Fleeting silver frosts blanket dormant lawns
Crocuses and lilies rest their weary heads
In soft, enveloping fields of loamy beds
Golden autumn, the embodiment of nature's regeneration
A promise of the coloured season's ultimate intention
To bring joy and love and hope to every heart
Embrace autumn's contrasts while it lasts
