Come Ceridwen
Triple goddess of grace and change
The maiden, the mother, the crone
Three faces, three worlds
Earth, the heavens and the sidhe
Thrice loved by all who behold you
Honoured, respected, adored
Come Maiden
With promises of love and spring
Of delicate blooms to cover the earth
Beneath your mantle of divinity
Where the young find true love
And the old find peace and serenity
Come Mother
Sweet protector of your children
Shelter us from the dark of night
Great goddess of endless comfort
Children cry in joy to see you
Mother's worship the great Mother of all
Come Crone
The autumn leaves are falling
Skies grow heavy with chill rain
My time has come and I await you
Take me to the lands of forever
For I too have been Maiden, Mother and Crone

"Come Mother
-Sweet protector of your children
-Shelter us from the dark of night
-Great goddess of endless comfort"
It poignantly reminds us of the duty of a mother. Her presence, protection and comfort are needed no matter the age of her children. I liked reading this. It has a very nice cadence, and projects gentle femininity in its tone.
I so related to this world of words. It is cyclic, the circle, the three. (Having reached "crone" stage, however (although I have read that crone is the classic term) I find that I prefer "Wise Woman." (three smiles)
There is real comfort, love, and eternity in this piece. I think it may be the piece that I relate to most closely, of all your beautiful works. It is surprising, and rewarding, to read your stuff, and think..."Yeah, this is what you were thinking, but she said it better." That is a wonderful thing, for me, to feel so connected to another writer.
Blessed be, sister!

Kathy hun - I love you, but you're not 60 yet. I have a year and a half until I'm a crone. I look forward to it with glee.
Anyway, Ali, great, great piece.
Sharon and I both love it, Crones or not!

Absolutely beautiful, Alison. I enjoyed this, very much.
