One of the other stores I visited today besides Borders was a unique gift shop that carries a lot of garden artwork and off beat items. I had gotten some ceramic planter mushrooms there and wanted to get a few more.
This store has all of the yard stuff hung and stuck around the front and back of the home renovated into a small shop. In the back they have a garden with flowers, stepping stones, wind chimes and other nice items for the patio or yard.
While I was browsing the items, I heard a robin making a huge ruckus behind me, followed by a crash noise. It seems mom pushed her baby out of the nest, located on the gutter drian pipe, trying to get him to learn to learn how to fly.
Well the little guy fell into one of the ironwork wall displays and landed in an old plant pot.

I quickly put my purchases down on the table and ran to my car to get the camera. I figured I finally had a better than average chance to get a nice bird macro shot since he was unable to fly away.
Unfortunitely the sun was pointing directly at me, but I still managed to get some decent shots of the little fella.

He wasn't hurt and was hopping around in this decorative plant holder the whole time I was there.

I love the little feather tufts on his head, lol.

Last summer my husband saw a daddy cardinal teaching his babies to eat pears in our trees. They were *right there* and of course by the time I got the camera they were gone.
Love that last shot best. Man, baby birds are so freakin' ugly though.
