When Blemishes Are Showered... (Poetry Please)

Striding with various tales

Jazzing along with abundant essays

Decorating mountain of books

I promised to sway

 

 

Determined to accompany life

Offered her pure ideals

My thirst enforced me

To search for true idols

 

 

Learned to love

 Grew wise

Hungered to win

But it was a disguise

 

 

Principles and morals

Appear dead and cold

My ideology , fake !

The world doesn't realize!

 

 

 Walked honestly throughout  life

Reciting mantras of truth

Mudslingers showered blemishes on me

With wide open mouths

 

 

Blemishes can be wiped off

Patches can be covered

But values once buried,

Do not come back

Wonderful poem, Bhawana! Being steadfast in our beliefs (and values) is the best principle of survival. The last stanza captures the moment very nicely indeed. Thank you for sharing.

Bhawana, where do you travel, which spheres that you come up with such feelings? Your message is so true. Sometimes the hurts inflicted by this world take away our best resolves and ideals. I would still hope to retain some ideal , some light that will take me further and wipe out all the hurts.

Mom used to say something like: it is easy to be "quality" when the going was smooth; but the REAL definition of a woman was how she moved over rough ground "lightly." I see that in your writing. It is evident in your words and message.
Hold tight to your values, my friend, for they are what creates our own frames that hold our pictures of life and self in a severely crazy world.

Beautiful, Bhawana, and once again you've chosen to reflect one of my favorite paintings with your lovely words. I think my favorite line was "My thirst enforced me//To search for true idols". This will mean something different to every person, but it seems to me that it will have meaning to everyone.
