Max comes to greet us
and shows us his ball. Kerry throws the ball first...then it is Azelin's turn. At first she is shy and then Kerry tells her the secret to tossing a ball.

Max comes ashore and shakes all over and lays the ball down at the foot of Cara.

That's all folks!

Each year, Max greets the new kindergardeners when we come to see the cranberry harvesting. He's extremely happy at chasing the ball in and out of the water...taking a little rest...and then in again he goes with the next thrown ball. The kids were really great about sharing the ball so everyone could get a turn. I imagine Max was one tired boy after we left.
He is a wonder dog. Later back at school when we drew our "maps" of the cranberry bog trip I think everyone included Max in their picture.
You can join Max in the bog. Actually it was kind of nice because in our reading series this week I was to introduce rhyming words...what better then "a dog in a bog".
I don't think the owner would give up Max...you would have to steal him.
When you get bogged down with all your commitments running to and fro, you could join Max for some comic relief.
I should bring Tuck over to take lessons in swimming from Max. Although Tuck likes to go froggin' in ditches and wading in the pond, he's not a swimmer. He likes to have his feet on the ground.
All the attention being on him.
I love the seas of cranberries all over town, thanks for sharing such great post!
He reminded me of Jake, a golden retriever I had for 13 years. Jake loved the water. At the lake I would swim out as far as I could, then I'd call Jake who'd swim out to meet me. I could turn onto my back and put an arm under his belly and Jake would pull me back to shore. Better than water-skis any day.
Thanks so much for posting this to
my group
What a wonderful experience for your kids, Bob. Max is quite the ham and just the perfect host for your bunch of kids to learn about cranberry bogs.
I haven't had the experience of visiting a cranberry bog yet, but if I ever do, I hope I get to meet Max.
Beautiful pics!
don't you hate it when you push submit and see those typos at the last minute?
I do not believe magi takes orders from anyone.
Your Friend,

I think we could have stayed there all day watching Max.
Max's antics sure make for some unique photos.
