I invited you all to take a hike with me (as I did today) at the Sonoma County Park "Shiloh Ridge" just east of the little Northern California town of Windsor in Part I. That article can be viewed at:

Let's continue our walk, shall we?
Amongst and between some of the precious wildflowers along the path, one can find gorgeous little ferns like these "maidenhairs":
The path we are walking looks so inviting...
To show you how far we've climbed, here's a view from the top of the ridge looking back toward the town of Windsor to the west:
Here, at the top, we find an unusually blue-colored wildflower:
It turns out that it's really a "blue lupine" that is probably growing out of a pocket of soil with a different mineral content than most that have a much more purple color to them...
Along that same ridge, we come across this little lemony-yellow native member of the primrose family:
Further down the other side of the ridge, we come across a couple of members of the morning glory family in stark white:
But, by far, the most dramatic colored wildflower we found along the Shiloh Ridge path today was this dark red "Indian Warrior" growing out of the top of an outcropping of rock -- nicely offset by its delicate, fernlike foliage:
Thanks for coming along on the hike with me at Shiloh Ridge Park! It was nice to have the company... ;o)

I'm telling K repeatedly that I want to plant a whole bunch of lily of the valley down by the creek. I'm not sure where they will be safe... have to kind of figure that out.
Thanks for taking me along.
"Bright coral bells,
Upon a slender stalk,
Lillies of the valley
Deck my garden walk.
Oh, don't you wish,
That you could hear them ring?
That will happen only
When the fairies sing!"
:o)
I wish you could, too, Sheila! :o)
I am so honored to be featured at the Pregnant Onion Club, Mariana! :o)
