A Chilly Winters Walk

I love the crunch of the snow on a good winters walk, and for some reason it seems more pleasant while walking around a body of water.

It's a  peaceful solitude, walking alone. I always feel a deep sense of belonging  while walking alone outdoors.  Although I almost always have a buddy tagging along sometimes two or three. My dogs rarely let me go for a walk alone. Often William visits his friends who are here fishing.

A favorite place is Frita Rio, a popular fishing spot here in the Kittitas Valley. This is where my icon photo was snapped, very early rising one morning on a camping, fishing trip. Now we will enjoy this beautiful place on a cold winters day. The line running up the hillside in the following photo is  freeway 82. Also notice the geese, in the distance who live here year round.

The fishing here is year round too. If fact just yesterday one of the regulars caught a ten pound trout !  Sorry I didn't get a picture of it. Just the mist coming off the water.

I catch and release myself in fact I often just  scan the area with my binoculars. Theres a lot of wildlife here. Today I noticed mostly the geese on the water and in flight.

I love the plant life even in winters death grip, covered in snow, ice, and frost.

The beauty is everywhere even though there is a freeway nearby. The veiws outweigh the noise and cars rushing past.

I love it here !

And you never know when you'll bump into someone you know. Here's Al an old friend, he is missing his dog Buster. Al hasn't caught any fish yet, not today.

So where's brat one and brat two, my terrible twins. LOL Doing what jack russels, do at least until I get after them. I don't like them out of my sight or harrasing the wildlife. Scooter, Tawanda come here !!
