Once upon a time, long ago when I still believed in myths,
I had a looking glass.
I held this glass, lightly, to the sun and looked through it.

And what did I see?
I saw my babies.
When my son was born, I broke into song, made up a song.
When my daughter was born two years later, the rest of the song came to me.
The resulting song is part of two existing songs, included below.
The first half, in Bold, is from the Beatles’ Till There Was You.
The second part, in Bold Italics, sung to Mel Torme’s The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, sung by Nat King Cole).
The words in the second part are mine.
I sang this to my children every night before bed.

Till There Was You...
There were birds in the air,
But I never heard them singing,
No I never heard them at all,
Till there was you.
There were bells in the air,
But I never heard them ringing,
No, I never heard them at all,
Till there was you.
And then suddenly,
The skies above,
Just opened up their hearts with love,
And then we really knew,
Just how special you really are…
And so I say to each and every one of you,
All you have to do is smile,
And you will see every day, every way,
Just how special, oh so special, you are.
Enjoy.
Oh, and I still believe in myths.....

I wrote several silly and sweet songs that I sang to them daily. My kids are my inspiration~
I know the truth of part one with the miracle of motherhood.
Thanks for the smile on my face.
May God bless.
