Both- Santa brings a few gifts, but the big things are from us. As my husband says, he'd rather get the credit for the gifts they really wanted than Santa. ;)

The past few years, I've brought the presents into my house...after going to my best friend's home to exchange and open gifts. I brought whatever he's gotten for me home after unwrapping them. The same will happen this year...along with a few members of Gather sending me a couple of presents. The mailman delivered them, but I brought the packages up to my apartment.
Santa always did gifts when the kids were at home, but he didn't seem to get the forwarding address to our now empty nest, especially since the FEMA disaster flood that took our home, our belongings and car--and our since dear insurance company refused the flood insurance because in the fine print there was something about "the water didn't come into the dwelling in the proper manner--all claims denied."
Our son does great holidays with his immediate faimily like his kids and wife, our daughter rarely forgets us--but isn't always available on the same day as is on the calendar.
However--good and exciting news this year! Santa will visit here again because as the song goes, "...we can use a little bit of Christmas right now!"
I can see that his gifts include those slacks that need mending all mended and pressed, those pj bottoms shortened and ready now to wear, and his stocking can have those diabetic foods and snacks that are required anyway...but they will be special and new because they are all wrapped up or in his stocking.
Santa is on his way! I can even hear the sleigh bells! Listen carefully!
Beverly, because you asked this question, it is the same as if you wrote a letter to Santa on our behalf. Now Santa will definitely visit us, and I foolishly thought he didn't have our current address. I always thought it was funny that Santa didn't get our forwarding address from the USPS--they have done such a great job informing all our creditors...lol.
So to you, Beverly, and all who read this: Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Well we don't have kids, so nobody brings the presents to our house. We buy them for eachother. Although there are some gifts that I'll put under the tree that say 'from Santa' but my husband obviously knows it's from me.
Mainly because my family usually comes here for Christmas I get a bunch of gifts for family and friends at yard sales and cheap stuff on clearance then I wrap the gifts and hide them til Christmas then after I get the place decorated I bring out the gifts which are in gift bags and each bag is labeled with that person's name. My Sunday School class at church is collecting non-parishable items and are going to load them up in boxes according to what it is and take it to the local food pantry.
If the bank says there is money in the account, and our hard work has paid off and there is some extra after bills, all of the above would provide gifts. But who neeeds gifts? We should appreciate what we have and like it instead of hoping something new would replace the old . . .
We have so many christmas's that all gifts come from them, and on christmas morning Santa made his way into our home. The excitment on their faces are priceless!
We do as our only children now are GRANDchildren and we have to deliver them out of town or out of state. Kind of takes the joy out of knowing it could be Sanee claws
Santa always brought the big stuff and Mom and Dad brought some stuff. Now that everyone is grown up it almost all comes from Mom and Dad but there is always one little thing that comes from Santa.
Santa brought the presents when my son was little but now it is Mom and Dad. :) Until there are little ones around again, it will be the more boring way it is now... can't wait for little ones on Christmas again. :)
We only say it's from Santa if it is a really expensive gift and we don't want the person to know who spent that much on them. I also put from Santa on most of the childrens' gifts.
Santa brings the stockings. Mom & Dad do everything else. That's the way it will always be. (though my husband has taken to writing his tags as from Santa now.... ?! where did that come from?)

My kids learned early on to NEVER say "doesn't exsist" for that would mean LESS presents!
