Where should the blame lie??

Seriously, I know it ain't no one's fault but mine if I'm overweight. I only blame myself.

We are the product of our own FREE Will choices.

Just look around and you will see the tragedy of the obese children in our country. No where else but in America will you find these overweight kids...then look at their parents...they stuff them with too much food, they award them with fat and they wonder what causes all the problems they have in school in regards to teasing, not being able to participate in sports...etc...etc...

NO no no, it is up to us whether we chooose to eat healthy or not. The options are out there for healthy living, you can buy your fruit and veggies from a co-op farm that is farming organic, with reasonable prices...you can shop in organic grocery stores...all the information is there for us....we just have to utilize it.

Although the government needs to be more responsible to its people about healthier foods and stop letting the "big business" put what ever they want in thier foods as flavor enhancers and changing the names when we find out such enhancers are not good for us such as msg...now refered to as "flavor enhancers"!

jeni - you are right, a young child will eat all the junk a parent will let them eat.. but those children aren't blaming their parents... they don't even realize they are overweight... when those children grow old enough to make their own decisions then they should decide what to eat. Hey, I am a junk food junkie, no doubt, but I know what I am putting in my mouth and am very careful to not over do. I can't blame the manufacturers if I put on weight, I can only blame me. :-D 3 kids later I still wear a perfect size 6 (except in the expensive brands.. I like them better because they lie about their sizes, so I can wear a 4 )

You are right Kelli! We must take responsibility for who we are and learn to cut the fat and calories. If we sit around and eat chips washed down with soda, the we must expect to get fat and stay that way. I do believe however, that our food has changed over the years. Even the meat does not taste or cook the same.

Its our choice what we choose to eat or not eat so that makes us responsible for ourselves! If more people in our country would take resposibilities for their own actions maybe our country wouldnt be so messed up in the first place!! Good post thank you!

WE have become a society of the here and now. Gone are the days of home cooked meals made from scratch. Instead we zap whatever is handy into the microwave regardless of the amount of preservatives pumped into it. We can no longer entertain ourselves without some peice of technology. Children are losing their imaginations. It is so sad. I have decided to cancell my DirectTV once my contract is up. No more TV in my house.

Kids don't have a choice in what they eat. It is the parents responsiblity to teach the kids and make the right choices for them.

You could say that we are self responsible, and of course we are, but our entire philosophy is out of whack in that we let "leaders" and so-called "authorities" dictate everything to us ... and that has become a case of the Blind leading the blind with almost all blinded by $ signs ...

Ha,ha I guess we should blame the government for not stopping us from eating junk food. At least we can honestly blame the government for the economy mess we have today.

Even the economy is a vote buying ploy.

I want people to buy their own crap and keep their politicians out of my pocket.

It would be nice if folks would take care of their own personal biz. But it looks like we're headed for an even greater give away government. I might be on the wrong side of the mailbox here. But if freeloading gets any more profitable, I might join that team and cruise.

If you can't If regulate your own diet, you should be in custodial care. Oh, I forgot. In a sense, they are. Don't even get me started about school breakfast lunch and dinner. If your kid shows up without a lunch the authorities should have a talk with you about what you've been doing with your food stamps
