In my meanderings here on gather, I have discovered marvels, mischief, miracles and media masterpieces of one sort or another. So in the spirit of community, I decided to share with you some of the media bytes I've found among the pages here on gather.
Well, it was another one of those weeks here in the midwest. Lots of snow and cold weather and crazy drivers all over the streets! Good grief folks, I swear some of these people don't have brain one when it comes to driving in the middle of winter. It makes me want to buy them a bus pass! And they're talking about more snow, cold winds and below zero wind chills...time to stay in and gather!
That said, between putting away Christmas and thinking of creative ways to make dishes with left over turkey and hame (and playing with my new camera, I'll be honest here) I spent most of my time on the computer trying to play "catch up" with correspondance. And when I had some time to relax, I checked out the latest on gather and boy did I find some great posts for media bytes this week!

Mrs. Santa Claus hiding behind the Poinsettias at Wal-Mart by Roger Kiser
Is an article that left me smiling from ear to ear. For those of you who know how much I dislike "the den of evil", I go on the record here as saying it's the best thing I've read to come from that blue smocked haven to American commercialism in a long time!
Saving for the Average Person: Ideas for Crafters: part 1 by Mandi -Watch where the chalk-white arrows go. To the place where the sidewalk ends. S.S. is one of those articles that really makes the trek into a new year full of odds and ends sound like a creative experience waiting to happen! Check it out and see if you can gain some inspiration from this post!
The Buzzard: A true poem...by Ron B. is certainly not your average run of the mill "roses are red" poem, but I will tell you this. It packs quite a punch into its image laden verbage! Read it and see if you don't agree that Ron grabbed the moment well! Great job Ron!

You gotta' love OGG: Saluting the Troops by Krissy W. Now THIS is what I call a great morale booster and show of support! Great job boys and by the way, I love your camo jammies...do you think they come in my size?
Mexico Last Week And Now This? By Rick (Don Rico) J. makes me want to have a serious talk with Rick.....Come on Rick, do you expect me to feel sorry for you when I live in the Midwest and we've been blasted with ice and snow for the past month and a half? LOL Great video though....
A Christmas Coke! by Dan (Santa is a Cowboy) V. was a no brainer for this weeks' Media Bytes! I have a son who collects anything and everything COKE he can find and to leave this out would be unthinkable in my house! Thanks Dan for a great post! I love it and toast you with a can of the 'classic' kind!
And if you have some extra time on your hands, be sure to check out ALL the entries in the contest Operation: Gather Greetings, videos, articles and images...I think you'll agree this Holiday Edition of Media Bytes, offers what we're all looking for during the holiday season....have fun and have a Happy Holiday to you and yours!
