My 7 year old is nothing short of amazing! He has always been so smart and mature for his age. Starting from when he was a toddler we tought him how to save money and how to earn money. He has saved money to buy his own big ticket purchases such as his nintendo wii and his nintendo ds. We pay his allowance of $5 every Friday, this past Friday he said "momma do you have any side jobs I can do to earn extra money" I asked what he is saving for and he said he doesn't know yet but he wants to save a lot of money. We couldn't really find much for him so with his dad's supervision he mowed his grandpa's lawn, it is a really big lawn. It took him 30 minutes! He is such a hard worker, and I am so proud of him. He was paid an extra $5 for all of his hard work from his grandpa.

My son is like that too, but his all involves electronic things.
He took a liking to them from the time he could talk and the past few years he has went several times to the computer recycle shop. At first he just hung out talking to them and he would buy parts and build computers from them, and sell them on Craig's list. He made enough to buy himself a cell phone, a mini bike, a scooter, a blackberry and several other things. Then he started volunteering to help them fix up computers at that recycle shop. Now he's been offered a paying job there!!
He's only 14 and he is showing adults how to fix computers!!
It's great to see these guys excelling at such a young age.... they are, after all, OUR future and the better they do now, the better future our great nation will have!
Sounds like your son is on his way to being a good saver. And a hard worker. Now a days kids just want to sit in front of the tv or the videogames. Way to go.
