Voices
(TO THE WOMEN- VI)
Is he again into some sort of mess?
With his cell phone put to sleep it can be.
Her deep fears swarm like hungry fleas.
She remembers last night their voices
have floated over the lawn, in darkness.
A night blind bird that has failed to return
has been crying, insecure, lonely, stunned.
Her fingers move over the buttons again;
the desperate call travels through heaven.
‘No answer’ wets her, makes her all drenched.
‘No answer’ falls from her forehead, falls down
her nose to her lips and tells her, “Shut up.”
She dials again.
He must be in a mess.

Wanting something is not enough. You must hunger for it. Your motivation must be absolutely compelling in order to overcome the obstacles that will invariably come your way.
In the end, it is the person you become, not the things you have achieved, that is the most important.
