Why is it that when you are mad nothing you say comes out the right way? You want to say, "Honey, I'm so mad I could spit nails." And what actually comes out is, "Money, I'm so had I could spit rain." Then your spouse starts laughing at you making you even more mad.
Why is that a movie can do well only if it has tons of violence, gore, and sex?
Why is that a dog knows when you are angry and comforts you, but when a cat senses you are angry or upset they just try to annoy you more? When I'm getting irritated my cat is always right there to trip me up.
Why is it that when you are in a hurry, the slow drivers always find you and pull out right in front of you?
Why is it that Caucasian's want to be darker and African American's want to be lighter?
Why is it that when you find something that you enjoy the company stops making it?

is that we all want to be close in skin color.
For instance, I work at a nursery with a lot of Hispanic workers. They wear long sleave shirts, pants, hats, etc to cover their skin. I have asked them, it is because they do not want to get any darker than they already are. But, put a caucasian out there & they are going to take their shirt off, wear shorts & generally do much to get their skin darker. Very strange.
As for the "Why is it..." questions listed, it's Murphy's Law. Unfortunately, he gets blamed for everything.
I noticed the dog/cat thing too. Although my sister hurt her back last weekend and our youngest cat just kept patting her as if to try to comfort her.
Girly Comments & Graphics
Because humans have no Morals.
Um, that's a lot for my wee brain to ponder. (This is a comment link for A Stone's Throw Away. It was written solely for when you're in the mood to be entertained. The fun starts here.)
I don't have a cat.
I'm the slow driver. Sorry! I don't want to get a ticket.
As for things said or done while arguing. I was having a couple of words with a friend (and ex-lover) the other day when she launched into a tirade. I sat there and enjoyed it because all the time she was stammering for the right words (cussing was out, we were in a restaurant), she kept shaking more and more SALT into her coffee. I found it all so hilarious. Unfortunately she caught herself before taking a sip.
Seems true that for most of us when something has just the right fit - the majority are not we so out and away it goes to non-existence. My hubby and I liked JERICHO, NEW AMSTERDAM, CANTERBURY'S LAW and one other I can't remember right this moment so, of course, they were cancelled. I originally watched MEN IN TREES and saw the last 10 minutes of the last episode the other night and I am glad I quit watching - it ended so stupidly.
The answer, Sarah, is "Because." Plain and simple.
Happy
Not everybody wants to be in a hurry, stop and smell the daylilies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great gather day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last summer we went to the Guadalupe river in the hill country here in Texas and there were lots of people floating around. This African American woman was there with her Caucasian friend and she asked for some sunscreen. Her friend said "I didn't know black people could tan!" And she replied "Does wheat bread toast?" I thought that was hilarious.
AND, about companies discontinuing products that you like... Or individual stores either not carrying or ceasing to carry the products you use all the time... ("Wheat Hearts" come to mind... My absolute, hands down, FAVORITE hot cereal... Not made anymore... Nope... All done... And, just so you know, "Cream of Wheat" ISN'T the SAME THING!!) (Double GRRRRRRR!!!)
But about your lamentation of kitty-cats' lack of sympathy, I must HEARTILY DISagree! I have had my kitty gently put a paw up to wipe away a tear as it ran down my cheek... Curl up by my side and warm the very part of my body that was hurting and just sit in front of me and stare into my eyes with a what could only be called "a concerned look" -- only to then brush up against me as if to say "It's okay, Mom, I still love you..."
Here is a 10
That really irks me.
And, about the tv shows. They have all changed. They used to all have fifteen episodes, then it went to ten, and now some programs only have three episodes per season! Then, when you really get into a show, like Arrested Development, they cancel it for some unknown reason.
I have began to stop watching most programs that I love because their just not fun anymore. So, why waste my time?
As the cat, my kitties are very overly affectionate. They always are near me or in my lap. I'm sorry that you can't experience the lovey side when you're upset like my cats give to me.
Movies that get high rating because of those things is only because, people loved to be entertained. That's what is becoming of the country these days.
As to the skin issue, I don't care that I am very pale so I can't comment on that.
As to anyone else, I truly can't say.
As to when you're mad and the words don't come out right.. That's because when you're overly emotional, your brain ceases it's normal thinking processes. It shuts down for a few moments and nothing comes out the way it should. Until you gain some composure, your thoughts won't come out of your mouth in the proper way.
All of my favorite movies have no violence, car chases, horror or crime. Most were box office busts, but I like 'em.
Cats can and do comfort their people. They are very sensitive. Our cat always went on nursing duty, laying on the bed of whoever was sick. He would look at me sympathetically and snuggle.
Finally, I am also a slow lane driver who is proud to have a perfect driving record. I am perfectly content to have speedier drivers pass me, but not to tailgate.
Movies- well you know that sex will sell as long as there are people to have it- lol
This comment is to let you know that this content has reached at least five votes and over 8.0 average rating, and as such has been removed from Rating Resurrectionists! Congratulations!
The cat thing: they pick up on your mood and the cat's personality is: they try to annoy, and they are very good at it. If they can make you feel worse than they know you do already, they go for it.
the blood and gore and sex: unfortunately, these things sell tickets. If fewer people went to see them, they would have to make decent movies the rest of us would enjoy
the skin thing is because white people are usually too white or like me :pink skinned and we are told that brown skin looks makes us look slimmer....and most people want to be whatever they aren't....the woman with curly hair wants straight, the straight wants curly, and I have been told by dark-skinned friends that they think light skin is cooler, as in temperature cooler....we are all the same under the skin, and no body wants to be different than other people
when we get upset, it messes up the chemistry of the brain which sends the messages along different circuits, linking similar words, but enough to be different than what we wanted to say...
And we don't notice when what we don't like is cancelled because we didn't watch it anyway. So what we like, someone else didn't and what they like, we don't, so someone is always missing what they had come to like..
I don't know if you really wanted some answers, but I enjoyed giving my opinions on why
As to why women can't speak fluently when they're angry? I have two sisters with that issue. I always thought it was to level the playing field--Venus and Mars and all that. However, looking back, there are a lot of times that I've been so freakingly angry that I wish my tongue would have been frozen for a simple 10 minutes, I am the UNlucky one that speaks longer and faster when furious... then I always have to go and fix the wounds I caused. I am such a sap. You'd think I'd learn?
My least fav place is the grocery store line. My kids won't hardly go in a store with me, because I talk (out loud) about how customer service USED to be. (And, I smile, because I think that qualifies me, now, as a senior citizen... I have officially crossed over--and I'm proud of that, in a weird, "shouldn't be," way.)

Yeah, it's all a conspiracie to make YOU and YOU ALONE miserable....happy now?! LOL.
Esp. the slow drivers and all the red lights at every stop he makes......*sheesh*
I think the answer to a lot of those is: perception. The slow drivers are always out there, the cat is always under your feet, family films actually out-perform the gore and violence flicks, and your spouse always has annoying habits. When you are angry or agitated it just seems that the Universe is out to get you. The only thing that has changed is you..
The skin color question is about all of us wanting what we don't have. Why do people bleach their hair blonde even though it doesn't suit their skin color? One of my daughters has naturally curly hair and tortures it to make it straight, while another daughter has very fine, naturally straight hair and perms it to make curly. I think we all believe one way or another that something someone else has is better than what we have.
