I was looking at Associated Content's "calls for content" when I saw one for Prom Tips.
This led to a flashback of my prom...
I so did not want to go...it was only because my mom was in tears over the thought of her only daughter missing her prom that I went...I didn't even have a date!
I bought a $4 "Jessica Rabbit Style" dress from Goodwill, $12 shoes from Wal-Mart, had my friend do my hair & away I went...
I ended up having fun while I was there (of course, I am the kind of person who can have fun anywhere - my husband & I had a great time during his hernia surgery, too, lol) but I think I was more excited that I managed to go to prom for about $20 - which is a heck of a lot less than what most people pay! (I managed to get a free ticket, too!)
I also think it's safe to say I'm a heck of a bargain shopper.
Anyways, I never thought prom would ever come in handy but it inspired me to write this article:

I haven't written much on AC, but I couldn't pass that one up!

A money saving tip on wedding gowns is to buy a prom gown after prom season when they go on clearance. My cousin bought a beautiful gown for her wedding for only $12.
