Can you think of any celebrities who passed away this year? The two who come to my mind is former World Chess Champion Bobby Fischer, and actor Charlton Heston. In my opinion Heston was not only a great actor, he was a great American.

I didn't realize Delaney Bramlett had passed away. Also from the world of rock and roll were Mitch Mitchell who was the drummer and last surviving member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. And there was Jimmy Carl Black ("Hi boys and girls, I'm Jimmy Carl Black, I'm the Indian of the group"), drummer and founding member of Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention.

Tim Russert is the one that hit me hardest. I still tear up when I think of his passing. We lost an awful lot of the good ones this past year. I hope they are all sending down blessings on all of us who have remembered them.

I know these have already been mentioned, but, the only ones who come to mind right now are Suzanne Pleshette and the guy who played Monk's psychiatrist. I really felt bad for his death and the death of George Carlin too. He was my favorite stand up comic and I don't like stand ups very well.
I had no idea that Bernie Mac died! What in the world did he die of? He was so young?

Rick Wright the keyboardist for Pink Floyd.... I'm a huge fan of anything Floyd and other than a couple others I read above most of them are news to me!

I read that Shel Kepler from General Hospital passed away. She was only 48. Does anyone know why she passed away so young?
