Post Surgery

Well, the pain is bad. The post op care was o.k. the first night. Worse the second day. If I had it to do again I don't think I would have had the surgery done.

I just came home today and still in a lot of pain. I felt like they pushed me out of the hospital, but that is another story.

Anyways, thank you for all the prayers and kind words. God was good.

I'll be praying for a speedy recovery. I hate it when they try to push you out of the hospital like that when you know your not ready.

Get well soon. They tend to push everyone out of the hospital so quickly. When my friend had her gall bladder and appendix removed she was hospitalized barely 24 hours.

Ahh, surgeries suck. I had a surgery once that my gut told me NOT to have and it turned out to be right. They were unable to fix my problem AND I was in a lot of pain....I hope you feel better!

I'm sorry you are in pain. I spent one night in the hospital when I had mine out, and that night did hurt when I tried to get up or roll over etc. Each day was better, and I actually went out to lunch on Monday, after having surgery on Friday. I couldn't eat much, I was very tired and tender...but, I needed out of the house. It will get better soon...and you will feel so much better.

Lora, I'm sending healing prayers your way. It will get better. Try to sleep as much as you can.

I agree that insurance policies rule rather than medicine. Or good sense.

They wanted to do one day surgery with me ..I asked them to let me stay the one night. After having another abdominal surgery on an outpatient basis..I wasn't going thru that again.

I too hope each day becomes better and better. When I was active as a pastor and called on people some said they wished they had not done a surgical procedure. But soon the pain went away and the lessening of the pain enabled them to realize they felt better. Then they could say they were glad they had the surgery. I hope you will be able to say the same after a few days. Surgery is no small thing I am sorry for the pain.

Lora, what you said here is almost word-for-word what I said last year after my gallbladder surgery. It gets better... but I wish I had listened to the doc before it came to that... and changed my diet so that I could have avoided having a part of my body cut out.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate it. David, yes it was the laproscopic and I still am having much trouble with the pain and all. If I could do it over I would not do the surgery.

Lora, I hope you are feeling better real soon. I had laproscopic surgery a few years back to remove one of my adrenal glands, I know what you mean. I thought it was going to be so much different. The pain will pass quickly though. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad to hear you are doing well all things considered.

I think it's pretty common to think that you wouldn't do the surgery right afterwards. I know my mom said that, too, when she had her colon cancer surgery, but it cured her, and afterwards she was glad she'd done it. The pain gets better. I will be thinking of you.
