I really do not like chain restaurants very much. I enjoy the local establishments especially while traveling.

I don't think I have one. There are several places I like. We have a pretty good local Mexican place, and we all love one of the local Chinese places as well. We're having Chinese tomorrow. Mmmm

I like a local Chinese restaurant called Mandarin House. They have the best rice.

I also like a few chain places like Olive Garden and TGI Fridays but our fave is a local Mexican place named El Aguila Real. Very good food, not expensive and the plates are HUGE!

Mo's is famous for clam chowder. There are several along the Oregon Coast. The one at Devil's Punchbowl is small, and you sit on picnic tables. It feels like a one-room schoolhouse to me.

Dan & Louie's Oyster Bar is in dt Portland, too. Very old too. I must like old seafood! It is very special. My husband and I went there on our first date. When he took me there again...about 6 months after our first date, I just knew....

I love Rangoon in Chinatown in Philadelphia, too. Also Pastoral, a Korean mom-and-pop place on 13th Street.

I love Cracker Barell, Eat 'n Park and Texas Roadhouse for chain restaurants. We don't get to too many smaller ones.

I love Forepaugh's in St. Paul. It's a restaurant in an old Victorian mansion and with lots of atmosphere. Another favorite is W.A. Frost. They have the most fabulous outdoor patio. Of course, since I live in Minnesota, it's only open in the summer.
