Im running out of ideas and things to photograph. So I figured id do a poll.
1. What types of photos do you like to look at.
2. do you prefer color or black and white
3. do you prefer natural or edited/photoshoped images
4, if you could only take one type of photos for the rest of your life what would it be(be specific). (dont include family members in this one. because you would always be able to take those.
1. animals
2. full color
3. natural
4. birds (because there is always some sort of bird around all year long)

2. I guess I lean towards color, but there are some wonderful b/w and sepia images that I've been attracted to instantly with the thumbnail.
3. This one's easy... natural. Anyone can make a photo perfect with software, but how many can capture that with just the camera.
4. I don't know, probably scenics (landscapes).
2. Hmmm, depends on the shot really. I love b&w, but I love the natural colors of the world around me too.
3. Hmmm, I prefer shots taken as you see them, but a certain amount of editing is kinda expected. Like to crop out the extraneous bits that are drawing the eye away from what your focus is in the shot, or rotating the shot to the correct angle. Photoshopping can be a great deal of fun though and I love some of the amazing things I've seen people do while playing around with a shot.
4. Random Photography... or Opportunity shots...things that catch your eye for their natural composition, natural beauty or simplicity... might be anything from the curl of an unfolding fern in spring to a pile of rusting cars in a junkyard.
2. I like color & b&w equally.
3. Photoshop has cool stuff, and if the poster uses it well then there's no problem. I personally use it to clean up and sharpen up my shots, and sometimes I use other filters to turn photos into paintings.
4. Yeah, birds for me too. They're always around and some of them can be real hams and BEG to be photoed.
I like color the most but some things are great in B&W or Sepia.
Some edited photos are really nice, adding of frames and special effects make some photos really special. I like the before and after shown together, it makes it interesting to see what the person has done and shows their creativity.
Scenery would be the type of photo I'd take if only one choice were available.
The best post to me is the photo essays. I like a back story with the photos I see. I like it when someone takes time to explain the photo. It makes it so interesting. I know photo essays take so much time to publish here, but I think the result is worth it. I find more people visit my photo essays than just my photos alone. If you really have extra time, you can do both. Some people don't have time to read the essays but want to see the photos. And when you're real lucky some people will do both by clicking on all the photos and commenting on each one along with the essay.
Sorry, I got carried away here.
I think black and white pictures are very dramatic and I love the effect that it can produce, but color allows you to see more.
I agree w/Marriane, I like all pictures natural not "doctored" up!
I agree w/you, I love birdwatching and taking pictures of them. (That was the real reason my husband gave me my digital camera for my birthday was so I could take pictures of birds and my dogs)!
2. do you prefer color or black and white. Depends on the subject matter and mood I am trying to capture. I prefer film to digital for B&W, so it costs a bit more and I do less of it. Especially now that most B&W films available are C41 process. I guess I am old school.
3. do you prefer natural or edited/photoshoped images. Natural images all the way. Part of the challenge of photography for me is to try to get that perfect shot with the camera and not rely heavily on editing. Though photoshoping is fun, I see it as adifferent art than photography.
4, if you could only take one type of photos for the rest of your life what would it be(be specific). (dont include family members in this one. because you would always be able to take those. I would probably focus on B&W photography of various subjects. I like using the contrast to show texture & feeling.
I like to take the same pictures too:)
2. Usually color.
3. Natural.
4. One type of photos for the rest of my life??? Photos that tell a story. (Ha!)
I love old pics & blk & wht, but it really depends on the subject. I love animals & pretty areas, etc...
