The year 2008 will be a year of miracles, surprises and positive changes. The sole purpose of the emotional and spiritual growth so many cried and laughed through in the year 2007 was designed to rapidly prepare us for the new beginnings of 08. Although at the time we were unable to see the reasons behind the challenges, the strength, wisdom, and courage they provided were only to prepare us for our new roles and life paths. Even if we couldn't see the positive changes within ourselves and the world around us, 07 was the year of growth both on a person and society level. No longer impeded by our own expectations, fears, and self doubt, we have opened new doors, which have connected us to not only others of like mind, but also the Divine's energy, wisdom and healing. Those with courage will only be limited by their expectations and willingness to reach beyond themselves.

As I was shuffling, the ace of sword popped out of the deck wanting my attention. It is the minor card of justice. What we have sent out, will return to us. Truths will be finally be revealed and justice will be achieved. No longer will threats and bribery force the truth into the shadows. But like the dawn of the first day of this New Year, the facts will be revealed in such a way they cannot be denied or excused.

The energy that will be carried in from the past is the four of wands. We achieved a sense of peace and satisfaction as the year ended. As we released the fears of the past and healed old wounds, we gained the confidence to alter our paths toward more positive destinations. Instead of running parallel or at odds with one another, causing conflict and disharmony, we have found ways to come together with common goals and needs. It has inspired many to open their hearts, minds and souls to those they once feared. Instead of anxiety and mistrust, we have found common ground, which has led to understanding and tolerance.

The four of cups will represent the energy of January. It is a time of readjustment and realization as we release the sadness and fear from our hearts. What we expected has not arrived in the timely manor or way we hoped. Yet, as the tears of disappointment fall, so do they wash away all the misinformation and negative behaviors that have kept us from reaching our full potential. January 16 will be an important day for many. It will be a pivotal turning point that will make them beacons for blessings for both themselves and others.

The energy that we will take with us at the end of the month is the six of swords. It is a clearing away and releasing of negative or self-destructive behaviors. The tears of the month will have washed the path before us clean and we will have a clearer understanding of how we can achieve our goals. It is now time to write our plan for the next six months in ink. Although the Divine is always providing for what we ask for, whether it be for good or ill, the last moment of January 2008 will be a define us for the next six months. The dreams or wishes we send out will begin to manifest with the coming of the new dawn.

The energy we will all be challenged with during the month of January is the ace of swords. Like before, it is the minor justice card. It is a warning to remain honorable and honest with our dealings with ourselves and others. Lies will be revealed. Deliberate harm done to others will boomerang back. Like so many other times of change, those who have become the heroes and heroines are not the ones who sought fame, but those who were simply following their conscious. It will be the simple acts of kindness and courage that will bring about the greatest change. Truly, the beating of the wings of a single butterfly will be the hurricane that causes the greatest and longest lasting change.
