She is often compared to Freya, and they may be the same goddess but from differnt areas. She is the goddess of Friday, and yes, that's where the verb comes from ....

Layla, they might well be. Some books divide them up, others don't. Frigg is always ODin's wife, and Freya ususally isn't, although she is from the elder race of gods and supposedly tauight Odin the woman's shamanic magic. She also got first pick of the slain warriors before the Valkyrie chose theirs.
