We’re kicking off New Year 2009 with an unforgettable journey never before offered! We’ll sail around South America’s Cape Horn with three back-to-back sailings onboard Mariner of the Seas. ® It’s a 46-day adventure beginning January 4, 2009. Here are a few details of this exciting opportunity.
First leg: Port Canaveral, Florida to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The adventure starts in the Caribbean as we sail south toward Brazil. While island-hopping, we’ll be able to enjoy snorkeling in crystal clear water, go off-roading through tropical rain forests and enjoy duty-free deals in a true shopper’s paradise. In Brazil, we’ll steep ourselves in a unique and contagious rhythm of life. In Rio de Janeiro, we can get an especially spicy dose of local life on Ipanema and Copacabana beaches.
Ports of Call: Port Canaveral, Florida; CocoCay®, Haiti; Phillipsburg, St. Maarten; Basseterre, St. Kitts; Bridgetown, Barbados; Salvador de Bahia, Brazil; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Second leg: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Valparaiso, Chile.
This is the biggie! We’ll live like true explorers as we round Cape Horn, just a few miles from Antarctica. On the way, we can try our toes at the tango, spend the day with Argentine gauchos (cowboys, to you and me), spot dolphin, whales, sea wolves, sea elephants and penguins, and try not to strain our necks as we look up at fjord walls rising 1,400-feet above the ship!
Ports of Call: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Montevideo, Uruguay; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Cape Horn, Chile (cruising); Ushuaia, Argentina; Strait of Magellan (cruising); Chilean Fjords (cruising); Valparaiso, Chile
Third leg: Valparaiso, Chile to Los Angeles, California.
The final leg of the journey brings us to Los Angeles on February 19, 2009. As we work our way up the western coast of South America, we’ll be able to taste wine fresh off the vine in Casablanca Valley and admire ornate colonial plazas and architecture in Lima. Then it’s time for a true Mexican fiesta in Baja before landing in the home of the stars, L.A.
Ports of Call: Valparaiso, Chile; Arica, Chile; Lima (Callao), Peru; Punte Caldera, Costa Rica; Acapulco, Mexico; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Los Angeles, California
It’s a true exploration that really speaks to my adventurous spirit! Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, whether you choose one, two or all three back-to-back sailings.

someday when we have the time.
My husband took me on a cruise with Royal Carillean back in June 27th .
It was for my birthday. We picked it up in Long Beach no LA than on the 26th than on the 27th we arrived in San Diego which was my birthday. My twin lives in San Diego so we saw him that day. Than to Catolina the next day. Where we had are honeymoon. Than to mexico, than back home. I loved it. He had them put up the big birthday package you can buy a head of time with a vace full of Flower's from hawaii & so forth which we had to leave on the ship. kinda made me mad. They were not cheap & they were still very fresh. But that was the rule, than two cakes as well with the Chocolate strawberry's. One cake was for my twin but we couldn't take that off the ship either. So we shared with our table mates every night. Gave the flowers to are materdene. Loved the midnight all you could eat Chocolate, never saw so many dessurts in my life. We got really nice watches & gifts as well. I would love to do the Hawaii hopping one. I have some photo's up from the cruise. I have many more from dress up with the Captain to port a call photo's. We had a great time. really like this ship the best.
Found this by accident.
