Excelling habits, exhibited in time frames
Ready, shoot, aim and progression restrained
So long this day, blend a sunset and half a moon
Goodnight locomotion, image renewed
Awaiting the glistening on grass blades
Embrace bliss, soft warm winds, in morning bathe

Retelling stories, fashioning rewritten script
Purposely ignored, dangerous new craft
Sans conventional wisdom, rule minus sums
Experts adjudicate, pencil in thinnest grin
Conform on bended pen, or wilderness
Fate of verse, a right way or wicked gift

Troubadour engines, visionary birth
Finger paints on canvass
Appreciation like mirth
Chorus words written, floating, magical
Rules also grow old fast
Times change, new forms, found practical

Excelling ardor, loving letter on the way
Blue skies are speaking, softly here today
Melodies sweet parse, window with a view
Angels double parked, whispering soft tunes
With measuring cup, forms are colored in
So long this day, blend a sunset half a moon

"Times change, new forms found practical," those are some great lines. "Blend a sunset Half a Moon" is a great one in itself. So lovely to think of William. It makes me "see' all things free and natural not only "fit" into one another, but it belongs that way, each needing the other to be. Not a puzzle, just made to meld, creating each other in a way.. Each stanza stands alone, also..That is so cool, William, and I especially like the line you ended with:
"So long this day, blend a sunset half a moon"

It seems as though we were on the same page late last night. I wrote one about the sunset too.
I feel there's a deeper meaning here. It's about a poet (you) not being confined by rules or boundaries. Let your spirit and mind soar, Bill. Then, put your pen to page and let the images soar. This poem is wonderful. Thank you for posting to our group.

I watched PBS last night. They had people on reading poetry. I then found out what a poet laureate is. So as I listened to these gentlemen read aloud. I thought of you. Have you ever thought of making an audio book?

Angels double parked made me smile. The moon reference reminded me that it was hard to get to sleep last night, with the almost-full-to-bursting moon shining brightly through my window.

Excelling, as always, if that doesn't sound too cheesy. If it does, I take it back post-haste.

I must agree with M C ... every time I think of blend a sunset and half a moon, I smile. I have said this before, I love the way you weave images and words in and out of each other.
