What the heck????
Does anyone know if it's possible for a virus to cause really bad breath that won't go away?
We've got some kind of "bug". Fever, headaches, nasal congestion, cough, fatigue. I'm guessing flu since the common cold rarely causes fever in healthy people.
But, oh my goodness, my two sons (my 6 year old and my 4 year old), ever since they woke up this morning, they've both had this killer, horrible, dragon breath! Their breath is so bad that I cannot even stand them talking to me. I've had them brush their teeth multiple times today, and even directly after brushing their teeth you can still slightly smell the stink mixed with the minty smell of the toothpaste!
Has anyone ever experienced this? BOTH of them are sick and they BOTH have the exact same bad smell on their breath. Ugh! I can't stand it. It's driving me nuts. It is so bad that I have to turn my head sometimes when they are trying to talk to me because the smell is just assulting my nose!
If you've heard of this, do you have a solution????? Is this caused by a virus?
I'm almost considering calling their Doctor. Never thought I'd call a doctor over bad breath! But this is just odd.

Honestly, I have no idea!
Mariana- It's defintely a virus of some kind, but I'm thinking the same thing as you, that their is something going on with their stomachs.
Got any suggestions for that? They do drink milk ocassionally, but not a whole lot, especially since they've been sick. I was always taught you should avoid milk products while congested.
I was thinking maybe some tea and water. Not sure what kind of tea. I'm really not sure what to do.

Other viruses or bacteria may cause odors, too.
I got your email and I'll write you back very soon. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR IT!!
