Only been on Gather a month now, and have 200 points. Of Course with dial-up I don't think i will ever hit anything even remotely close to 3,000. But if i even ever have a chance for one gift card, i will have at least made a goal, and be happy.
I have been on gather for a little over a month and I have about 1700 points. I don't know how people rack up 3000 a month. I'm online almost every day and write a lot of comments and post something everyday, so I don't really know what the deal is.
I can get about 150 points a week if I blow a lot of time on it and that is about the max I can get. I don't know how people are getting so many points. I'm approaching 1,500 so if anyone wants to help me along... I'll return the favore
I don't want to tell y'all how many points I have from just this past month. :x But it took me several months to figure out what I'm about to tell you, and my points went up extremely slowly until I did.
What seems to help: * viewing different kinds of content * posting different kinds of content (by these I mean not just articles, or not just photos, and if you can view and post videos, do that too) *getting over a hundred connections (this may have to do with % of views you're likely to get on what you post & amount of content that they post you'll be interested enough in going to read or comment on yourself). * getting to a point you have a 'library' of past articles you've written that people can find by tag searches and internet search engine searches. * groups - start one or two if you can group activity counts too. If it's an interactive group, like one of the writing prompt groups, all the better.
I have been here since March and I feel in love with the site. I actually spend about 4 hours a day on Gather late at night. But I do check email in the AM. By the summer I had figured out that increasing my connections and groups and reading , reading, reading and the nwriting then posting got me lots of ppoints. I have averaged at least a $50. GC once a month since July with some months due to contests etc going to 3 50. GC a month. I just switched to the cash option on Monday and I will be cashing in my first $50. CASH soon as I am at $47.
I just started actively participating on Tuesday and have just barely earned 100 points. I've been really busy doing other things, too, though. Now that things are slowing down around my house, my goal is just going to be 300 points a week I think. So it will be nowhere near that $50 a month, at least not for a while.
I don't spend too much time on Gather anymore. Things are so hectic around here that I spend maybe 2 hours a day on it, or one a lot of the time as well.
This is my 1st day here and so far I love it..... I think it just takes time and I have alot of that right now,so here I sit infront of my comp most of the day....
I like any info I can find on how to get points on this site because it is really different then I'm use to . I do boomertowne and everything is easy to find. Will just keep trying on here until I get it figured out.
I have been on Gather for several months and I have not even earned 150 points I have no idea how to earn points. I have posted a few pictures and I comment on articles have joined some groups and accepted some friends but apparently I am not doing something right *lol*
