Breakin' Wheels

Wheels rollin' in a circular motion,
Spinnin' way out o' control.
A mind with a theatrical notion,
Driven by heart and by soul.

Love moved into my life as a squatter,
I tumbled head over heels.
Spindled clay bein' shaped by a potter
Is just the way that it feels.

There once was a reason to shout, "Hurrah!"
Now for mercy I do plea.
His rotation o' sorts, the coup de grace,
Time shared betwixt her and me.

The breakin' wheel is punishment in hell
For one o' the seven sins.
'Tis time for me to bid a fond farewell
Before that torture begins!

Pride shouldn't be cause for a deadly blow,
To me 'tis a gift to give.
To thine own self be true, I surely know,
Is the way I want to live.

No, not another night alone in love,
Cryin' a river o' tears.
Singin' the wild call o' the mournin' dove
Is not how I'll pass my years.

I'll add some rotors to my spinnin' wheels,
Hasten the pace to an end.
He must decide if he's head over heels,
And on whom his love he'll spend.
