Just over a week ago Haley discovered her first loose tooth, the lower left one in the front. She wiggled it every day and it got looser and looser but still hadn't come out when not even a week later she bit into a sucker and instantly loosened the tooth directly beside the first one. She now had two loose teeth to wiggle and jiggle and play with.
She was dying for them to finally come out, and I was dying to finally do what my dad always did when I was a kid - tie a string around them and pull them out. I tried. I really did. But I'm not the tooth puller that my dad was. LOL I couldn't even get that string to stay in place long enough for me to do anything but just pull the string right out of Haley's mouth.
This morning she reached into her mouth and the second tooth came out in her hand. She was elated for a brief second and then the tears started to fall. LOL She "didn't want her teeth to come out." I got her calmed down and excited once more and then off to school she headed, where I suspected the second tooth, the first one to become loose, would fall out.
Sure enough, when she got into the car this afternoon she was all toothless grin. Here's my growing baby, two teeth less today than yesterday.

Now, on a personal note, this is all strangely bittersweet to me. No one told me when I became a mother I would become sentimental over baby teeth!! LOL

WTG Haley!
How old is she?
Marianne: Heck yeah! The tooth fairy is on the way as soon as I get off here. I actually had to go get some cash today so we had something to put under her pillow. LOL
Oh, don't use string to pull as it could cut the gums. The dentist said use dental floss around the tooth and start to tie it. As you tighten that first tie, it will go down and pop the tooth out. I watched him do it with one of Angela's, and it was very easy and cool.
I think it's especially bittersweet. Your baby girl losing her first teeth. Will the tooth fairy come and make a visit?
You did not mention how she finally got it to come out. And just in case you forgot, you girls would cry to not let your Daddy pull your teeth. LOL I guess you forgot about that. LOL
When the tooth fairy came to our house, she always left behind glitter or sequence, along with the money. I think it came off her wings as she fluttered past ...
