I have been away and missing many of you for so long that I figured I better explain my absence.
Around Easter my husband and I had both applied for part time jobs near to where we live. My husband was called right away to start and he became a driver for Domino's a few nights a week. I was finally called by the grocery store close to our house in June and started working there. We worked it so that we didn't need a sitter so one of us was always home with my son. July 31 my husband lost his job. They didn't pay him commission owed and he decided not to fight it. Domino's started giving him more work at two stores and was doing almost 40 hour weeks. Of course even with my paycheck we are still not really making it.
After about 2 months, I was asked by the store director if I would like to become Customer Service Lead/Bookkeeper for the night shift. I said yes. There was a girl in that position that was leaving for the Navy. I was recommended by several people and later found out that there was a least one person that doesn't think I will make it. Funny thing is that she is one of the people that trained me. After finding this out, it made sense with how she was training me. She was training me properly and pretty much left me alone to do the job by myself saying she was "shadowing" me. After one of my managers found out was going on it was pretty much straightened out. I found out that I was picked for the job over the person she wanted for the job. This person doesn't know when not to talk about certain things in front of customers or other associates and quite honestly is not very professional. Probably the reason she was not asked by the Store Director. The job is alot of managing of the front end of the cashiers and lots of paperwork but nothing that I can't handle.
Then about three weeks ago, in the afternoon, one of the worst things happened to my husband that I had fear would happen. He was delivering a pizza to an apparent non existent address. He was flagged down and followed the guys up the sidewalk. As he turned the corner one of the guys hit him in the head and had him on the ground. They ended up stealing his wallet but not getting the pizza money. They didn't bother with the truck or the cell phone and after they ran off he drove back to the store where they called he cops and paramedics. They bandaged him up and then the cop that looks like he was part of the SWAT team drove him back to the area to see if he would recognize anyone. He was actually surprised that they delivered to that area but apparently only do so in the afternoon. My husband came home to my son and the neighbor that have watching Michael due to my change in hours all bloodied and scared the both of them. Wayne kept Michael up all night to make sure that he would not fall asleep that night since I was working late. He was afraid of having a concussion and falling asleep. He never did go to the doctor for stitches or anything. The two of them picked me up that night when I got off at 1 am and I started freaking that my son was still up. My husband then got out of the car and walked to me with a big white bandage on his head. So of course, I did start freaking out. He called me that evening about the babysitter but never told me what happened. He was pretty much out of it and only thought of one card that had to be canceled. I remembered the other that same night and called immediately. The next morning of course, I remembered the third and of course that was the one they hit. They must have filled up all the gas in their cars and two stations before I could stop it. Those charges are still in dispute.
My husband went on two interviews last week with no luck. I am freaking out because we aren't even making rent right now. The landlord is working with us but I don't know how long that will last.
I am still adjusting to my hours and not sleeping too much due to having a cough left over from a cold from a few weeks ago. I think it is my allergies bothering me this time. When I am off I am either catching up on sleep or cleaning up the house on the two days off or spending time with my son. On my nights off he really likes me to spend time with him which of course wins hands down in my book. There are many times I also just can't even think of looking at the computer even though I have so much to do. But I have so many articles saved to post for crafts and I want to get them up for everyone. If I don't get to your articles, please understand that it is nothing personal. I am really trying. I just don't have the time I used to have. If you don't want to rate or comment because I can't then I understand. I just wanted everyone to know what was going on.
I also wanted to send a special thank you to Anne Marie, Amanda "Middle of Nowhere" C, Braxton, Christy F, Necee, Lady Neetah, Christy F and Esther is Flesh and Blood S for thinking of me with emails and pings and making me feel very special.
I wanted to share some photos of my son from the past few months.
My son and Buddy.

We needed to get a printer since Wayne was job hunting. Of course, Michael liked the box best. It became his spaceship.

Of course, Michael has to take his dog with in into space!

Wayne took Michael on his first fishing trip one morning while I was at work. They tried to keep it alive so I would see it when I got home but he didn't make it.

Michael has this thing about putting his foot in his mouth...literally!

Unlike his mom, my son is very photogenic and loves to get his photo taken.

Michael's first day of school in his new uniform. His hair flopped even before we got in the jeep!

Michael loves Buddy! Can you tell?

On Friday we took my son to get his haircut. He picked out a style from the book and even let them use the electric clippers. He told us he is now cool and stylish! I was in tears when he was done. He looks so different and grown up and he isn't my little boy anymore. Of course, it runs in my family. My sister and I cry at Hallmark commercials. My mom used to cry at the cards!

And you know that there has to be one with him and Buddy!

Yes, the dog is next for a haircut when we can afford it.
