When my husband and I got married, I always told him that I loved him and to be careful before he left the house for anything. This just became a habbit and I still do it after 29 years of marriage.
One day when I was pregnant with our oldest daughter, my husband got up early to go squirrel hunting. He did not wake me up. He just kissed me while I slept. When I woke up to find him not there. I worried, even though he left me a note. I just felt uneasy for some unknown reason.
When I saw him walking back home. I ran, well I waddled(being 8 months pregnant) to meet him. It was not long until I could see the blood on him. I was terrified. I started screaming. My Dad heard me and ran to see what was wrong.
My husband had a Remington 1100 shotgun. It had all 5 shotgun shells in it. When he shot, the gun blew up. He got shot in the chin, chest and hand. Needless to say, I was terrified.
My Uncle was in from Ohio. He insisted taht we take photos. I just wanted to get him to the hospital. My Uncle told me to calm down. We may need the photos. So He took some photos.
We were very young at the time. We married at 18 and we was about 19 but close to 20 when this happened.

That experience taught me a very valuable lesson. We just never know what tomorrow will bring. We never know what the next hour will bring. Life is short and we may not be with those we love tomorrow. We just never know when someone we love will die for whatever reason.
I love my husband with all my heart and we were fortunate. He was not killed when he so very easily could have been.

I always tell my honey I love him ;-)
It is so important to make sure the ones you love truly know how much you love them because it's true, you never know when they or you might have a tragedy occur to them or you.
I am so sorry that you lost your sister so very young. I think they need to be more aggresive when it comes to drunk drivers.
