Do You Believe That Knowledge Is Power?

I have always been a firm believer in gaining all the knowledge and skills that you can possibly receive. I think that everyone would have more self respect if they continued to learn even after they are old.  I love to learn new skills and knowledge. I try to learn something new each day.

I often take online classes for a variety of subjects.  There are many wonderful FREE Online Classes for everything from doing genealogy to Building your first web site.

I  received an email from Pendaflex Learning Center, They have wonderful classes and I have completed many of them through this site. They offer the following New classes.

sometimes I believe that knowledge = frustration. The more you know, the more things can frustrate you. I personally believe that when we stop learning new things we might as well quit breathing because its "over for us" when we become stagnant

I believe in trying to learn about a variety everything that you can, It can be frustrating not being able to do things for ones self and to rely on others for help,when it is something that can be simple and learned,I try to encourage my children in the same way, to get knowledge in many areas as the world is changing fast,and you will need various skills because the job you may want may not be avalible just yet,or the job you may enjoy....so I say learn everything that is possible....look at that jeperady contestant"Jen Jennings" that had a vast knowlege of everything,he to will probably become a jeopody question.

I am a definite believer of learning as much as you can. I continue to take online courses and also at work I take any of the trainings, etc. offered, never know ehen they will come in handy. Then, of course, are life's lessons that you learn from others. Thanks Connie.

Good list and suggestion. It's finding the extra time to spend learning that poses a problem. It would cut into my Gather time and well, we just can't have that ;)

Agreed. I love learning new things. I got Photo Elements for Mac software for Christmas and I am definitely going to check out that digital photo course. Thanks for the link!

Education is Power! And you have to keep your fingers on the pulse just to be able to converse with the grandkids!!! (Mine all think I'm SuperWoman)! I get the coolest presents and even helped set up the cage for their salamander!!!
After graduation I took every course my company offered, continued taking classes through Adult Ed., finally got my Assoc. Degree at 48, and have not let up yet.
I love reading and learning. Recently signed up for a WebSeo class - something about search engines, haven't had time to take but the first couple lessons so far, but it is interesting.

i personally haven't taken any online classes,but after i move back to florida soon,plan on taking some courses...
but as of now i haven't.but yes i agree,knowledge is power in most circumstances

I definitely agree that knowledge is power, and I am always thrilled whenever I see my sons eagerness to acquire new knowledge.

I will definitely have to check out the links you posted, these sound really interesting. I have taken quite a few online classes in college such as history, women in politics, ancient history and a lot more. I usually had one online class every semester, because they were great for me with my son at home.

I am forever telling my kids that "knowledge is power" and that no matter now much they think they know there's always room to cram more into that brain of theirs!

Might have to tell Ron about that website class. He's been wanting to start up a website where we can sell all his genealogy research and materials. Not the actual books, but the documents contained in them. Some sort of thing where people buy them online and receive a download to the material they buy.

I've taken online classes. I also like taking the "enrichment" courses at my local community college. It's a lot of fun to learn. I try and learn something new every day too.
