My daughter, Haley, is four years old. One would expect a four-year-old to have an imaginary friend. Not Haley. She has a slew of them. Some of them are siblings even. She knows their names, ages, where they live, how many pets they have, and more. One such imaginary friend is Rosie. I think she was the first actually. Haley talks about Rosie quite a bit. She tells stories about Rosie and pretends to talk to her on the phone. Even I have to talk to Rosie on the phone! And Rosie has more birthdays in a single three-month span than any ten people combined have in a year!
Saturday evening I got all of our Christmas presents out to wrap so they'd be ready to send back to West Virginia with my mom and dad, who were here visiting for Thanksgiving and who left this morning. My mom and Haley were helping when it suddenly dawned on Haley that she didn't have a Christmas present for Rosie and needed to buy one for her so she could wrap it. I told her she could make a present for Rosie, so she set out cutting up a piece of printer paper. Next she got out her crayons and colored some of the pieces. She, then, taped some of them together to make her "gift" for Rosie. Using a small sheet of excess wrapping paper she then wrapped her gift. Next, she got a label, signed her name to it, put it on her freshly-wrapped gift for Rosie, and put it under the tree. Never in my life have I seen anything so utterly sweet and adorable. It nearly brought tears to my eyes. Why I am blessed with these two wonderful children I will never know, but I am so grateful for their influence in my life.

BTW, I like the new picture!
Thanks Jodie for all the comments. You should have told me you were going to join. I'd have sent you a referral link.
Hey, we're doing the exact thing with our kids, Nancy! I bought a composition book for each child and we write all the funny and/or cute things they say and do in them along with the date. My mom remembers some stories but then forgets if it was me or my sister that did them. This way we remember them all.
Thank you, Jean.
So true, Nana, so true.
That should be a cheap Christmas present, Pam. LOL
Thanks Kay and Denise. I thought so.
Thanks Amanda. It was time for a change.
God bless your family...
My mom said my sister and I both had an imaginary friend, Marianne, but I don't remember that at all. She did point out that we only had ONE whereas Haley must have half a dozen.
Thanks for commenting Bonnie and Laurice.
I thought so, Sue. : )
Parker doesn't have one yet either, Shannon.
Thanks necee and Rita.
LOL Bryan But you don't celebrate Christmas, do you?! I do need to send you a package again sometime. Do I have your current mailing address? You need to email it to me to make sure I do.
It was so cute to see Haley while she was making that gift for Rosie, She really believed that she was making a gift for Rosie. LOL She is so cute and smart too. :)
Thanks Brad.
That'd be cool, Trish. My husband would be thrilled!
Thanks Lindy! She's something amazing, that's for sure!
Hi Kathy! Thanks!
That describes her perfectly, Phyllis - a big heart.
No doubt, Ginger. I think sometimes she teaches me more than I teach her.
Thanks Karolyn.
