My Wedding Anniversary

Today my husband and I have been married Eight Years.  Along with celebrating 8 years of marriage sadness also fills my heart today.

Eight years ago my husband and I and another couple were married in a beautiful outdoor wedding complete with my favorite time of the year, Fall.  The leaves were changing, the birds were chirping and it was just wonderful. 

 The other couple and us had babies two months apart, both boys. 

Sadly the other couple divorced two years ago.  Each year when we celebrate our anniversary I cannot help but think of the other couple.  I see him daily but I have not seen her for so long.  I so much wanted to ask him today if he thought of her at all, but I think sometimes it is better for me not to know.

My husband and I enjoyed a nice homecooked meal at home tonight complete with three of our children and let me tell you he ate well too.  We will celebrate our special day later, probably not this weekend as he will be working but the next we will do something.  Until then, being together, healthy makes it all worth while.

Congratulations! I can see how you would feel sad, but I would just focus on the wonder of the day for you!

Congratulations Pam! That is wonderful that you have stayed together, especially when you witness another marriage as close to you as that fall apart. It's understandable to be sad, but I would have to agree with Amanda, focus on your happiness with your husband.

Amanda, I did just that, but I was still sad that I don't think he even gave her a thought today and they have two boys, he has custody of them.

Pam, congratulations on your eight years with your hubby. He's a lucky man! As for the other marriage some things just aren't meant to be. My first one lasted 18 years and ended due to CRAZY circumstances. At that time I never thought that I would find love again but along came Terry and I think she redefined love. Maybe that will happen for your friends also. it must be hard that he has the two children. Does she see them at all or have partial custody?

Congratulations! That is sad about your friend & you are wise to not say anything. I am sure he thinks about her :o( We have been married 6 years last August. We are still like newlyweds haha! ;o) There is the occasional butt pinch when our kids aren't looking haha!
