My father-in-law called about 4:30 PM and told me that they were going to have a birthday party at their house at 6:30 PM (our normal dinner time...) So I had to bump dinner up to at least 5:30 PM to get out of the house by 6:00 PM (no this isn't a word problem LOL!)....
I was showing my son a book I bought that taught French by looking at the pictures...(cartoons). And I saw the kitchen one & they showed pancakes & it was labeled crepes. Since I took a 4 hour nap today (VERY unusual LOL) I thought yeah I am gonna make crepes for dinner tonight! (so what to put in them to make them for dinner??)
Ok make your usual crepe recipe, but don't do the sweet version do the one that calls for salt, not sugar.
Then I cut up some olives, some pineapple slices, cheese.
I even took some cream cheese & put it in a bowl to lather the crepe with it ;o). (I had my almost 3 year old boy try the cream cheese before I just ruined his crepe for him & he let me know right away he hates cream cheese LOL!)
Then I got Prego out & heated that up (my husband is so great for thinking to buy Prego! It has helped a lot this week with dinner!).
I made the crepes a bit thicker (which is what I heard from a boss the French really do...not that thin stuff people make us think crepes are LOL!)
I loaded the sauce on, then the pineapple & olives, and lastly the cheese (chedder). and I folded it up threw it into the microwave for 30 seconds at level 5 & voila! My boy loved it & so did my 1 year old girl!
When I did mine I did cream cheese instead of chedder & WOW! It was like having lasagne in a burrito! YUM! I hope you all want to try this & let me know how it goes! I am sure you could put some bacon or canadian bacon or whatever you like in it ;o).
Crepes are not just for strawberries & cream ;o)!

Thank you for reminding me. Are the pancakes from this morning still good? We put them in the microwave and forgot about them?
Hah!
CHICKEN, yes CHICKEN with the pancakes!
I call that, well never mind.
(I did dare you, and it does sound good, but I am stuffed, Birdee!)
Also I am not an expert in microbiology, so I am not sure about what has eaten or jumped on your pancakes from this morning ROFL! ;o)
Would you like a visitor? A guest who can eat 3 whole chickens and I kid you not!
But he doesn't -- from where I can find -- have a pound of fat on him!???
jk hahaha. you still ruined it tho. 'td
Ok here is the recipe for crepes from my Better Homes & Garden cookbook that I LOVE!---I will include the sweet version too for those that like the sweet ones with fruit & then some....:
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 tablespoon cooking oil
(1/4 tsp salt if doing the regular crepes)
(2 TBSP sugar if doing the dessert crepes and you don't do the salt)
In a bowl combine milk, flour, eggs, oil, and 1/4 tsp salt. I mix it with a wire wisk, but you can use a rotary beater until well blended. Heat a lightly greased skillet (I do med). Spoon in some batter (now this depends on if you want thin crepes or thick...up to you); lift the skillet and tilt the skillet to spread batter. Return to heat. It says to only brown one side LOL I never followed that I always flipped mine & browned the other side too...(I guess it will be up to you haha!). Place on paper towels on a plate when done. Repeat with remaining batter, greasing skillet occasionally (and I do it every other crepe with spray Pam.
DESERT CREPES: Prepare as above, except omit salt and add 2 TBSP sugar.
I hope this helps & thanks everyone for commenting! And Erica you can make your crepes however ;o) I like the dessert ones too & when I make those I will just sprinkle cinnamon sugar on them & roll them up & eat em ;o).
I started not to read the article, and then went back and did. It sounds odd enough to be good. Funny, I thought crepes were strictly sweet. Olives huh?
I gotta try this one. Leave the post up--I am too lazy to write it all down and I can't use my printer---Vista does not supprt it--ugh!
Thanks Lorri for the comment & I think it sounds like a good idea too ;o)
Dena thanks for the comment & getting me back with the not reading & then reading it thing ROFL! Yeah I will leave this post up. I don't think I will be deleting any posts ;o)
You ask about what you could get with your points. It is easy to find out. Just click on the point amount and it will take you to what you can cash in for. I no longer know what you get with points as I am on the cash option now. I have been for along time.
The PWoTW group is a great way to meet new people. We are a very close knit group. Sherry puts up an article on Friday or Saturday asking for volunteers to be PW the beginning on Saturday night. Watch for that article and make sure to comment that you would love to be one. I will also nominate you. You keeep two articles going at all times. Everyone reads and comments on them. As soon as one gets close to 150 post another one. You can only post it to the PWoTW group and the PW Ghost group. Have fun, you will love it.
Thanks Amanda LOL I did olives cause my kids LOVE them LOL ;o)
You can make 3000 points a month and they will offer the cash option to you.
I was going to be one of the Gather US History Coorespondants so I was required to sign up for the cash option. Now they have put that group on hold indefinatley. I was really looking forward to being a coorespondant for gather. I was so disappointed when they put it on hold.
Kathy thanks ;o)
