Tell Me More About You...

Hi gather friends - this post is another short one, where I ask you for a simple question and you give me a simple answer! 

I know most of you by your handle - aka the username you go by.  Some people have really witty handles, others are just your name.  I use a handle I've been using for years - which is a play on my name and nickname: CelestialCeece.  My real name is Celisa, and obviously, my nickname is Ceece/CC/CeCe etc.

My questions for today are:

1.  What is your real name (first names only).

2.  What nicknames do you go by?

 

THAT'S IT!  I realized last night that these short posts asking for a simple answer garner more comments than a lengthy post where one vents, or rants and raves!  Anyway, hope you all are doing well, and I'm looking forward to getting to know YOU better! PEACE!

My real name is Brenda. I don't really have any nicknames but online I have used Brendalee and JJ'smom. My neighbors little girl couldn't say my name and my son Jason often went by the name JJ, so she just started calling me JJ's mom.

Well, I have a very unique name and I wasn't going to post it on Gather as there are some people that are probably trying to find me and they would more than likely know my name if they saw it, but, what's the likely hood that they would even be on Gather. So here it is, my first name is Jota, with a long o and some people just call me Jo. Even though it's a very simple spelling, very rarely does anyone pronounce it right, so I tell them just to call me Jo. I think it's German, but my mom was also Cherokee, and I never got to know her, so I don't really know where she came up with this name.

Thanks, I do know about the Jota dance, but I'm not Latin, I'm German and Cherokee, and the name for the dance is pronounced Hota, while my name sticks with the regular J sound, while some people call me Yota! LOL! But thanks anyway! Thanks Lynn, I always thought I was a rare, priceless high performance sports car! I'm also a very rare and expensive stereo amp too! Much better than a Latin Dance, since there is no Latin in my ancestry.

I love the sound of Oma and it hasn't absolutely nothing to do with my name. In Arabic Um means mother and it also means basis. I think many languages use this sound in this way because it is so fundamental. Think of the sacredness of OM and you can see what I mean.

Janet, but I'll never answer to it. From birth my family called me JJ then as I got older they shortened it to J, which spelled the feminine way is Jae.
