My daughter, Haley, got a digital camera for her fourth birthday in May. It was nothing fancy. Just one of those Fisher Price Kid Tough digital cameras that are made for kids to learn on and that are supposed to be hard for them to hurt (by dropping, which is inevitable, of course). Since then she has taken hundreds and hundreds of photos. I was sitting here looking through them just now and thought I would share some of them with you. Some are quite good! Others are very funny. Still more are just odd! I hope you enjoy the world as seen through a child's lens.
When you're a kid, you can get people to do things they wouldn't normally do!
What would the point of having a camera be if you didn't get pictures of your and your brother's feet?
Of course you simply must attempt the self-portrait!
It's hard to get everyone's entire head in the shot!!
You've got to get pictures of pets and other animals.
Inanimate objects make great photos too.
When you're a child you take pictures everywhere.........
In the car
At the post office.... 
At the game farm 
Outside........ 
You're nearly always looking up at those around you. 
You can manage to get pictures of everyone......... 
Even your mom while she "gathers"......... 
But your favorite subject is still your little brother.

Haley, I am very proud of you "My little Buttercup".
I remember her taking that one of me and your father. LOL We both look fat in that one. LOL
Note that we have both lost weight since then. :)

Mine is wanting a camera also! She is 7 will be 8 February. I am going to buy her a disposable camera to see how she does then maybe by christmas I will have my mind made up.. if not I will give her and extra month and maybe for her birthday. Cute article

Denise, thanks, and yes Haley definitely takes pictures of whatever she wants!! LOL We have tons of pictures of our neighbors' house now. And she walks through the house and takes pictures of things like knicknacks and the kitchen table. Her pictures really crack my husband and me up sometimes when we're looking at them.
Pam, I would definitely recommend a digital camera as a gift for your son. It will give you your camera back (like it did me) and it's something you can share with your son.
I got one for my grandson. Waiting to see what he does.
