Just a few months ago my daughter was complaining of tooth pain... Long story short, she is not a compliant dental patient due to trauma at a dentist as a toddler... I took her in to our dentist that has had her in to just sit in the chair and so on for years to try to calm her... The appointment went well and she actually let the dentist take xrays and clean her pearly whites... At that time, he showed me the xrays and stated everything was looking great and that she would be losing her baby teeth before long...
Last week she started complaining again that her teeth were bothering her... She stated it once and that was the end of it for a few days... Upon the second complaint, she showed me that one of her bottom front teeth was turning sideways and was moving in front of another tooth... That's when I noticed something white sticking out of her gums just behind the tooth being pushed around by the moving tooth... It is a tooth coming in, but it looks to be too far back from the tooth it would be replacing...
The moving tooth is a little loose and the one being pushed around with a tooth coming in behind it is not loose at all... I called the dentist and inquired as to whether or not this is normal... Of course, they want to see her and she goes in tomorrow afternoon...
My stepson had to have most of his baby teeth pulled and it was always an issue at his mother's house... My husband and I never really saw the whole process with him...
Being the worrier I am, I wonder if this is a bad sign or even normal... Really I am thinking it is not such a good thing that this tooth is emerging over a centimeter behind the baby tooth that isn't loose in the least... Having seen the dentist so recently and his statement of how everything was all lined up and ready for a smooth transition from baby to permanent teeth, I am concerned... Then there is the whole issue of when I called the dentist, he thought it was odd and wants her to come in...
Today I look to you my Gather friends to tell me if this is normal, weird, or something-anything...

My dad is a dentist and I worked the front desk for him for about 5 years. It's hard to tell from what you are saying as to whether she needs to be seen again, but when in doubt, it's better to have the tooth removed and have the permanent one grow in correctly the first time.
Good luck!
And although it will cost money, any teeth that aren't straight can always be fixed with braces!
