The Easter Bunny pulled one heck of a prank on the kids this year... It definately made for an interesting day today....
Yesterday we had the family Easter Egg Hunt and dinner at my Aunt and Uncle's house... The kids were so exhausted when we arrived home, that they left their baskets in the van...
This morning I wake up to my daughter crying, because the Easter Bunny didn't come... I tell her surely he has come, she must be wrong... So she takes off and looks all around the house again... Bear in mind, we returned from our trip on Friday afternoon, which was her birthday and then jumped into Easter mode... We have been running ragged since we got home and haven't unpacked... So the house is a mess from luggage, birthday presents, Easter goodies, and everyone rushing to and fro...
Perhaps the Easter Bunny didn't find a place to leave the goodies??? Or maybe it was a sign that we needed to clean up??? My daughter promptly woke up her 3 year old brother who was convinced that the Easter Bunny had made everything invisible... They began to try to find their invisible goodies... The toddler could really have cared less that it appeared that the Easter Bunny had not been here...
It got really interesting when my husband went out to get something out of his truck... He screams at me that the van door has been left open... The kids ignore him and keep working on trying to find some sign that the bunny had been at our house...
I know the van door is not open or we have a REAL problem... So I head to the front of the house and see out the open door... We had been "egged"... We did this to a few friends a couple of years ago and they retaliated this year... Carefully you sneak up on their house in the middle of the night and litter the lawn with plastic Easter eggs and a sign notifying them that they've been egged... Streamers accompanied all their decor and we were trapped on our porch...
Finally the kids catch on and rush out to collect the eggs... The "eggers' had no idea what we had done nor did we have a clue they were going to "egg" us, but it worked out perfectly... As the children looked for more eggs by the van, they finally remembered leaving their baskets in the van... They open the door and there in their seats are their baskets filled with goodies...
I don't know how the Easter bunny and the "eggers" didn't run into each other last night really... However, the kids did get some cleaning done (Happy Easter to me) and they loved the pranks... They think whoever egged us had to have planned it out with the Easter Bunny.... LOL
Now I have to come up with something much more creative for next year...

That's cool and sounds like it made for such a fun easter morning for the kids. After your daughter's stress of thinking the Easter Bunny has dissed her was over that is!
(Survived your trip, I see.) -smile-
