Today was a LONG day... I shouldn't be tired really, but I am exhausted and I have had a nap...
After a full week of the kids being sick with the stomach virus/flu thing going around, I finally broke down and headed off to the doctor's office... When you know it's a virus, you know there is nothing the doctor can do... I mean antibiotics aren't going to get rid of it...
My daughter had it the worst and she is sleeping more than usual, despite actually feeling better... She literally is asking me to pick her up and carry her around and complaining that she is too tired to move... I suspected it just might be an attention thing and told her that if she really is that tired, I would take her to the doctor...
Both of the children have developed a cough and the lovely leaky noses... Yeah!!! The week of constant cleaning and lack of sleep caught up with me and I came down with the bug too... Yippee!!!
So first thing this morning we headed across town to the doctor's office... The road I normally take to avoid rush hour traffic is now closed... I was so tired I got completely turned around trying to detour... I got lost in my own stinking city... Boy did I feel stupid...
Upon arrival, we checked in and the youngest wanted me to put on his hat... That sounded like a great idea to keep him entertained while we waited to go back and see the doctor... I uh forgot I had a can of Diet Dr. Pepper in my hand when I went to properly affix the hat on my head with both hands... I poured my drink all over myself in front of everyone... Still I was too tired to care... I cleaned up the floor and made a lame attempt at patting some of the liquid off of my, but I was soaked...
Finally we get back in the exam room and there is good news and bad news... This was a very multi issue appointment... The good news I weighed in at 121 pounds... I haven't weighed that little since junior high...
Now for the fun stuff~
She has a stomach virus, upper respiratory virus, and a sinus infection...
He has the stomach virus, upper respiratory virus, bronchitis, and has to return when he is well to have a wart removed from his hand... Daddy gets to take him in for that!!!
I have the stomach virus, upper respiratory virus, sinus issues, bronchitis, and a staph infection on my neck right under my jaw bone where I can't see it. So I got to go under the knife today with the kids in tow... The youngest didn't like that idea at all especially when the needles and scalpals came out... I also have to return to have my hormone levels tested, as I am exhibiting signs of menopause... Joy!!! We are talking menopause with my 29th birthday coming next week...
My favorite part of the day was of course leaving the office with my wonderful new neck accessory-a giant piece of gauze and the tape to go with it... I am going to call our friendly doctor when I have to rip 3 inches of tape off where it is in my hair at the back of my neck...
Woohoo my birthday will be filled with wart removal and talk of menopause!!!
As long as there is chocolate, I'm there!!! ;)~
